I went there for Kreme pita but they were all out already, I had a whipped cream version instead and it was ok.

I forgot to order my salad without onion. The owner saw me picking them out and insisted on giving me a new salad, which she made extra big :)

1st time in today. My friend & I both agree we'll be going back again soon. Very clean with appealing decor. Warmly greeted immediately. Got suggestions of what to try from the owner & her daughter-in-law, believe me, they were not wrong. We had goulash & cabbage rolls, both came with homemade mashed potatoes & freshly made pita bread. EXCELLENT, like walking into my mom's kitchen because you could tell the recipes had been lovingly perfected. So tender. So flavorful. A pure delight that that I can't wait to experience again. We also had 2 desserts that were wonderful. Unfortunately, I can't remember what they were called. One was like a napoleon, the other a nut-filled crescent. They came out to check on us to make sure everything was satisfactory & treated us very kindly. You will not leave here disappointed, of that I am sure.
Excellent food and service. The lamb shank was recommended by the owner and was FABULOUS. My wife and I had a long chat with the owner (Radmila Minić) as we come from similar heritage, and have connections in common.
My wife had cevapi and their wonderful homemade bread. Other items include kupus (cabbage) salad sliced thin with vinegar and oil, and a couple desserts: a cherry pita and a creamy custard pita (krempita). Both were great. We bought some kajmak (soft cheese) to bring home. There is a small store within the restaurant offering ethnic edibles. The restaurant is small, very clean, nothing fancy. You cone for the food. We are from out of state but would go back to try other dishes. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Cafe Balkan. My lamb shank was as good as it gets. My dining companions ordered Hamburgers and Burek. It was unanimous. 6 thumbs up. 👍👍👍👍👍👍 My next visit, cabbage rolls!

Cafe Balkan offers an outstanding dining experience with exceptional service and an authentic taste of the Balkans. We thoroughly enjoyed the stuffed cabbage (sarma) and pljeskavica, both perfectly seasoned and complemented by a fresh cabbage salad. The café also features a charming marketplace in the back, where we picked up delicious regional treats like cookies, jam, and tea. From the warm hospitality to the flavorful cuisine, Cafe Balkan is a true gem for anyone seeking a genuine Balkan dining experience. Highly recommended!

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — A Taste of the Balkans in Phoenix
The Balkan Café is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee transported me straight to Eastern Europe. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and were incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, helping me choose the *perfect* dishes.
The food was absolutely fresh made every bite was bursting with authentic flavor.
The owner even stopped by our table to share stories about the recipes, which added such a personal touch.
Whether you’re craving a hearty Balkan meal, a strong coffee, or just a welcoming spot to unwind, The Balkan Café delivers on all fronts. This is a **must-visit** in Phoenix—I’ll be back again and again! 🧡☕️
