First time ordering from this place and let me tell you, Best sub I've had in a very long time. Ordered 2 of the famous Italian combos and a meatball/provolone sub for the family and everyone was so happy with this order. Life long customers from now on out. Huge portions too

How have I been alive this long and never been to Captain Bill’s before today? What a fun and eclectic place. Open since 1981 And still serving affordable sandwiches! How many places can you still find a sub for around $5 with some at $2.99. This place was busy when we arrived and people just kept coming, that tells me so much right there. The inside is small with maybe 6 tables, some old school arcade games and no shortage on fun things to look at. There is also outside seating. We were greeted quickly and when we told the employee we’d never been in she answered some questions and let us know her favorites. She sold me on the Captain Cooler drink which is fruit punch, lemonade and sprite. It was so good! Wasn’t overly sweet which was surprising, but very refreshing. They offer 5,8,10 inch subs. We ordered two combos. Mine with an 8 inch club and potato salad. My husband a 8 inch Italian and chips. Everything was brought to our table and looked fantastic. The bread didn’t get soggy which I loved and the toppings fresh. I typically don’t get onion etc on my subs, but I let them make it their way and just added some pickles. Perfection! My husband really enjoyed his Italian. I’d like to come back and try the spicy beef and a few others. Service was friendly and fast. There’s a reason this place has survived so long. Come check them out.

Sandwich was great along with the friendly customer service. HOWEVER my biggest take away would be as a person of color I was taken back to see a noose hanging down from the wall. I personally felt a piece of discomfort, knowing the history behind the rope. If anything else the restaurant establishment is a cool place and would be cooler without the rope. Overall good food.

My son continues to look for quality subs shops in the Phoenix region that provide Philly east coast quality and generous portions.

Well, we tried captain Bills and were so pleasantly surprised at how good the subs we ordered were. First, The bread was absolutely delicious and matched good quality bread that we got back east. The quality of meats was really good and the portions were quite generous and that’s what we were looking for quality and generous portions. Prices are really reasonable. The macaroni salad was delicious as well. The young lady and the young man behind the counter were very friendly and we engaged with them about trying out this facility for the first time. The bread is delivered fresh daily from a bakery.

Always quick and friendly service, and the subs we've had so far have all been great. They've got a friendly vibe in the store and pretty good prices. Get yourself a punch card bc you're going to come back for sure.

I've been getting subs here for almost 40 yrs. When I was a kid, we would stop by once a week as a treat. It's nice to see the decor, games, and most important quality of subs hasn't changed. The staff is super friendly. Now that I'm older, I take my own family. We love to look at all the old photos on the table and bumper stickers. It seems like there's something new to find every time. As for food: the bread is fresh, the meats and veg are in a great proportion. You definitely get your monies worth. It's nice to see in this economy that some businesses still have integrity. Always recommend to friends, all my fam already visits. Haha ❤️

What a place, great food, service and price. Kitschy to the core. You can tell the staff and customers have had a blast here over the many decades of operation. Looking for a great sammy, this is the spot.

My husband and I visited for the first time, I can definitely say we will be back. We had the best customer service from the second we walked in the door. I had one small issue with one sandwich and the ladies whipping out the orders did not hesitate to redo our order. I greatly appreciate how they all went above and beyond to make our experience a great one.

Very inconsistent messed up my order twice and some people are good some aren’t also they give like one slice of salami per sandwich and like one tomato for a 8 inch sub I hate this place

Hidden gem

Been going here for 20 years and I still love it. I recommend the French dip, club, pretty much everything.
