I cant say enough good things about this shop, it's food, and it's people. It's been around for 40 years! You can't beat the prices. Best 3 dollar lunch I've had IN MY LIFE.

$4 8 inch subs that taste amazing AND are made super quickly?! Yes pleeeaaassseee!! This place was recommended by my dentist tech and boy was I glad I swung by!

I am 61 years old and I used to go to this place when I was in 8th grade.....I didn't even know Bill's was still there......still the same......awesome subs and prices are affordable, service is fast and friendly.....I wish I lived closer

Love this place, not a large menu, but what they have is delicious, have eaten there a few times and taken home several times. Staff is great and will even make recommendations for a sandwich. The decor is fantastic, (toys and educational devices from the past), number stickers to read while you wait.

Being from back East I’m especially opinionated about restaurants and have found Phoenix a mixed bag when it comes to good food. The west side has been especially rough in this regard as a sea of chains dominates with a few diamonds in the rough hidden here and there.

After living here for 15 years, I finally tried Captain Bill’s and pleased to say it’s everything I had hoped a sandwich shop would be… quality, straightforward, inexpensive, personality, interesting, tasty, and fast.. without even a hint of chain restaurant sadness.

Probably the best non-fancy sandwich in Phoenix. Beats some of the other crap delis who have made this claim in the Valley.

Don’t ever change, Captain Bill. We’ll be back.

We never been here before but I’ve heard about this place. What a cool place and the staff is so friendly. The food is amazing. I had the Italian and my wife had the chicken salad sandwich. We also got a side of potato salad and Macaroni salad.WOW the food is amazing. We will definitely be making another visit.

I’m just here to leave a note of appreciation. I went to the submarine shop today 08/06/2025 and my card was old and wouldn’t clear the charge. I didn’t have cash on me but Amber was at the register and with a smile and reassurance said they had me for the day. I could not believe the kindness. I went right to the bank after and got the cash for my order plus extra for the well deserved tip and came back. The girls were welcoming and genuinely grateful for being given a tip and had many nice words even though I was the one to benefit. I don’t write too many reviews, I’m not a guide but I feel this place deserves your visit. The food is great and the prices are excellent. The atmosphere takes me back to the 80’s in a fun and nostalgic way. Anyways that’s all I wanted to say. To whoever reads this: I hope you have a great day and if you’re in Phoenix stop by Captain Bill’s and make it even better. To the staff of Captain Bill’s: please never stop being kind and friendly and God Bless.
