Perfect birthday dinner. Attentive staff, great food, stellar cocktails. Peter and Ariel were superstars.

First time here on a long overdue daddy and mommy date night. We had an amazing experience. The atmosphere, the service, THE FOOD! I would recommend this place to everyone I know. Will definitely be back multiple times. Alias was just as amazing great hidden gem in downtown phoenix.

Great food. Hidden gem. Classy, excellent service, great ambiance. Don't tell your friends or it will get crowded fast! haha The only tricky part is the parking. They don't have a parking lot. Perfect for WAYMO or Lyft. There is a paid parking lot behind the apartment complex to the east of the alley that runs along side of the restaurant. I'm definitely going back.

We love Character, food and cocktails are fantastic and the owner's attention to detail to our table, made my husband's birthday dinner there special.

I actually came here to work and had a really amazing experience. Character Distinctive Dining is definitely a local treat. The environment is eclectic and intimately decorated - perfect addition to the Downtown Phoenix Art District. The chefs are super talented, tastefully and artfully taking pride in every plating . My dish was the Roasted Chicken Leg and it was so good. The chicken leg is juicy and flavorful from being marinated in a brine and pairs well with the seasoned Yukon potatoes. It’s perfectly intimate for a date night or creative night out with friends.

The restaurant is contemporary and ambiance intimate and warm. The indoor tables were widely spaced so as not to crowd guests. There is a patio when weather allows. The waitstaff were excellent both informative and really personable. The bartender created a delicious cocktail specially for me. The menu was small and apparently changes frequently. Dinner was delicious and properly portioned so that there was actual room for the dessert which was equally delicious and inventive. Kudos to the chef! We will definitely recommend Character to our family and friends and return when we are back their way.

Intimate setting with high quality options for dining. The rack of lamb and grilled trout was absolutely spectacular. The lineup and quality of dessert unfortunately did not run parallel. Their after dinner drinks, wine list and cocktails easily made up for it.

My friend & I came here last night for dinner and left highly satisfied! We started with the crispy maitakes. Yum! Fried mushrooms never tasted so good. After that, we had the fritters, golden beets & sea bass. They were all delicious but the beets really stood out to me. As for cocktails, try the Spot O' Tea Guvnor?... not usually a gin fan but this Arnold Palmer-esque martini was fabulous.Outside of the food, what really added to & made the experience even better was our service. Alan was awesome. Helpful & genuinely friendly...he was engaged in a way that a lot of bartenders don't seem to be at a lot of establishments.I never knew this gem existed and will definitely be back!!

Cool atmosphere and great location. The cuisine is superb and the waitstaff is on point.

Hits on all cylinders: Ambiance, service, food, and drink are all outstanding. The setting is cozy cosmopolitan, service is friendly and knowledgable, the cocktail program is outstanding, and the wine list is well-curated and avoids any pedestrian choices, as you'd expect from Peter Kasperski. All of our dishes were out of this world, from the "chop salad" to the brown butter trout. It could not have been a more excellent experience.

Food was fresh and delicious. Platting was pretty and portion size was perfect. The service was Fabulous ! Rachel was very well informed and helpful, plus she always had a smile on her face. We had the Melon and Crab Salad and Charred Octopus which both were cooked to perfection and a good combination. We then had the Lamb and Trout again both were delicious. Nothing fancy as for décor and atmosphere, but I am there for the food! We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and it was delightful!

Great to see Downtown Phoenix is hanging with its fellow Top 5 US cities. Great cocktails and imaginative dishes by big league culinary pros. Well played!
