Everything tasted reheated from last night's leftovers. The premium Mac n cheese tasted like box Mac with cheese wiz. I ordered online for delivery and paid $40 including fees. Wasted money. I would not recommend, save your money

Way too expensive. Just because one restaurant in Mesa may charge a price doesn’t mean you can.Baked beans were delicious. Way too expensive for the portion. Lemonade also too expensive, like $7.95 I recall.Too many other options out there to settle for Charlie Mae’s price-abuse.
food was absolute trash....i don't know how you mess up Mac and cheese, but they did it ! The shrimp was tasteless and dry, greens and green beans were nasty meat i them smelled spoiled! Stay away very trash food.

the overall ambience online looks so different than what it is in person. first off the parking situation really sucks There's literally no parking available so there's no choice but to park in the strip mall next door and walk. the ladies who work here are super rude and unhelpful .... wait times are insane .... i try my best to eat all local places but i've never had a positive experience here something's always off. my order is wrong or food is cold it's fine when it's fresh but it's never been noticeably amazing at all. they're not attentive at all if you eat in but every time I order out, there's a mistake. overall save yourself a headache!!!

OMG... Ribs were so dry, Collard Greens were so salty Mac N cheese were so water down. And the Corn bread I couldn't tell if it was a cupcake or ? will not be coming back.

I wish there was a way I could give this place less than 1 star. Stay away! I can tell if a restaurant is good by how good their dessert is...well, the red velvet cake in a real soul food restaurant should be amazing...moist, with a rich cream cheese frosting...well, the cupcake substitute we got instead of a slice tasted no better than a grocery store cupcake. Dry, full of preservatives, and something not even close to cream cheese frosting. If Charlie Mae is willing to serve this quality of dessert, I just cannot fathom what dinner might taste like, Do yourself a favor....go somewhere else. I certainly will.

The food is way to expensive for the prices they charge. Another thing that bothers me is how they treat delivery drivers. If you want to treat someone like that, run your own drivers. Nobody wants to hear and see that while they're in your little run down restaurant.

Very good southern chicken. Greens are great as is the loaded backed potato. This isn't a fast food restaurant, so expect to wait awhile as they make the food fresh. On To-Go orders call in your order or order on the web site, ready to go when you arrive. Highly recommend for that southern food fix

Chicken had NO seasoning yams were hard and watery Mac and cheese had hardly any cheese red beans and rice weren't RED BEANS and rice okra was ok greens weren't cooked down enough THE ONLY THING THAT WAS AMAZING was the CATFISH

6/11/23. I just left Charlie's Mae's while here vacationing at the Wakdorf Astoria for a 3 day getaway. I get there and there is no human but a kiosk to order from. I order the 3 piece friend chicken dinner which clearly states a Breast, leg and thigh. I only eat white meat (breasts) so this was my only option. I waited 50 minutes in a hot lobby only to get my order and it was 2 thighs and a leg! I tokd the staff and they said they don't sell breasts snd I tokd then then you are false advertising and had to actually show them the kiosk! I was disgusted and asked for a refund and got nothing but attitude so I said I would take the sides. Well the rice was hard and crunchy and the Mac and cheese was clearly craft! Horrible horrible experience!!! Gem Pratts

I had there catfish which was way over seasoned. The collards were nastyThe food came out so piping hot. That we couldn't carry the bag on our lap. the heat was going threw the to-go container. the food was way over priced for the small portions that are given. the establishment itself was filty you can sit in to wait on your food. but they must not have an AC because it's so hot in there. as We was leaving They had an employee that was transporting some of there pieces of dessert out to a car. the pans that they were in was so filthy look like they hadn't been wash in years .. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.It's really very Sad...

Overpriced for the food portions. $32 for 5 bacon sized strips of brisket, a large ladle of Collard greens, and mac'n cheese. The presentation was nice. The food as far as taste, was mediocre. It's not lip smacking, finger licking good. My brisket was dry but had a nice smokey flavor, the mac'n cheese's cheese tasted like it was squeezed out of a tube, and the collard greens were decent. Overall, unfortunately I wouldn't recommend strictly because the pricing doesn't match the portion sizes.
