Now that this has reopened, the sandwich quality and service has sadly gone down. I wouldn’t like for this to be constructive feedback as I would like to return. I went in there with two others, 3 people total and ordered simple sandwiches with no changes. It took about 25 minutes to pump out 3 sandwich’s. Mind you this was before lunch rush and had 2 others in front of us. The people behind us left before us! Not sure what happened but I was honestly super disappointed. The sandwiches turned out pretty good but lost their touch with having to wait so long. I used to work at a sandwich shop and we had our cold sandwiches off the table within 2 minutes max. When everything is portioned out and you know the menu, it’s quick. Anywho I’ll be back and give another update in a couple of months

The food here is perfect. If you haven't been, you're missing out on a great sandwich.
Back in 2003, we relocated to PHX and my work made for frequent drives past Cheese ‘n Stuff - but I was distracted by their next door neighbor Central Music, as I play the Saxophone!
So one day during a lunch break, I decided to check out the music store, but was feeling a little light-headed and decided to grab a bite to eat.
Enter Cheese ‘n Stuff.
They had a long line of customer (that’s always a good sign) and I soon experienced the fact that they made excellent sandwiches!
They closed their doors in April 2025, but the good news is that they’ve reopened!
The new owners make excellent sandwiches! We tried the Tyler, the Haturo, the Turkey Club, and the New Yorker.
Everyone in our Family commented on how tasty these sandwiches are!
If you’re tired of the same old “same-wich”, head on over to Cheese ‘n Stuff and spoil yourself with a next-level sandwich!
The Owner said they had just been on TV this morning (Christmas Eve) and just remodeled the place.
Great customer service, friendly (we walked in just as they were closing), and the young folks making the sandwiches took their time to make sure our sandwiches were on point! 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Update: Just had the pizza sandwich. Also great.
Tons of charm with a family feel.
Place looks awesome. I appreciate how they honored the history and made it look nice in there.

I understand this plaxe had new ownership and hell yea!.
I really want to support them 100%..However, they've got some serious, shii to work out in their operations.
Waiting 30+ minutes for just two sandwiches felt pretty rough. What made it worse was the low output: watching the counter, they only managed to crank out maybe six sandwiches in that half-hour span, despite the line of people.
1. cashier who didn't seem to know the menu or do anything. Homeboy didnt take orders or really do anything.
2. One person taking orders but disappears 15 min. At a time.
3. Employees just standing around; there was zero hustle or coordination.
When my sandwich finally arrived, it was made incorrectly.
I'm trying to be supportive, but the efficiency and attention to detail are currently way off. The potential is still here, and I'll give them another shot because of my history, but the wait times need to be fixed cuz dis was a nah for me dawg.

TLDR: Skip this place.
Parking is terrible and the place is underwhelming. No indoor seating and the patio is disconnected from the building in a central Phoenix alley. Staff is nice but terribly disorganized. Veggie sandwich should just because meatless. Potato salad came in a 16 oz cup.

Place been open for 75 year's. New owners, now the place is closed for remodel even though their website says they are open rn. I would suggest not trying to reinvent the wheel but what do I know? Predicting the beginning of the end. So sad. 🤷♂️
We saw this story on the news and decided to give it a try and it didn't disappoint!
An update, the deli isn't closing, it was sold and the family is staying on for awhile during transfer. I surmise that they won't like the changes and will open another deli with the daughter at the helm. If you want a sandwich that isn't on a roll...an actual sandwich you gotta try this place! (Their rolls are awesome too)
I had the Manhattan on marbled rye and I can't stop thinking about it! Reminds me of Perry's deli back home in Napa.
