We made a reservation well in advance for the Valentine's Evening Special promoted as Larry's Steakhouse. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations and ultimately fell far short of what should have been a memorable end to our Valentine's Day. My girlfriend and I genuinely enjoy dining out and make a point to support local restaurants whenever possible. As a local mural artist and business owner who collaborates with bars and restaurants in the area, I understand how important community support is. That is exactly why this experience was so disappointing. When we arrived, several employees passed by without acknowledging us. The restaurant was not particularly busy, yet we stood waiting for several minutes before being greeted and seated. The first course we received was bread that was hard on the outside and undercooked and doughy on the inside. We politely sent it back without requesting a replacement. The response from our server felt dismissive and lacking any sense of concern. The second dish, prawns, was equally disappointing. They were mushy and had not been properly cleaned, which made them inedible. Again, we sent the dish back and were met with a similar lack of attentiveness or apology. The next course, a chili relleno, was sent out with an extra portion to compensate for the previous issues. This dish was enjoyable and well prepared, and we appreciated the effort to correct earlier mistakes. However, another course followed that was a cheeseburger. While it was well made, it did not align with the expectations set by an event marketed as a steakhouse Valentine's dinner. The menu choices throughout the evening felt inconsistent with the theme and price point. Service overall remained underwhelming. We had to flag someone down for water despite the restaurant not being busy. It also appeared that the hostess was serving tables, which contributed to a sense of disorganization. The ambiance did not reflect a Valentine's event. There were
We went for the Valentine's Day 5-course prepaid menu, which in total, with tax and gratuity cost us around $350. The menu was a bread and butter beginner (you could say that's complimentary in most restaurants), shared salad, shrimp ceviche and 1 stuffed pepper, before our burger entree with a shared fries. The desert was the only miss, food wise, as it was comparable to a store bought cake. Service was great and I want to be clear, the food was great too. However the premise of an old take on a “steakhouse” and 5 course meal, to get hamburgers as entrees and 3 shared plates, for that price, feels a bit like a dupe. We will be back, but I think the pricing was a miss or a large exhaggeration for Valentine's Day.
(Made this same statement on their Instagram page and my comment was deleted! So sub-par/ overpriced food and dishonesty.) Went last night for the pre set Valentines dinner. After arriving, I'm not surprised why the menu was kept secret. $350 for two people and we got cold rolls, a single shared salad, 4 shrimp, a single shared chile rellano, and burgers and fries. We could have gone to an actual steakhouse for those prices. Oh, and 2 drinks each came to another $100.
My wife and I barely talked because we were having out of body experiences loving this food. We had the feta quesadilla, the vegetarian mole, and the vegetarian tacos. Wow
Everything about this meal was amazing. Each course was among the best things I've eaten in Phoenix. The service was great. The ambiance was fun and interesting. And apparently the menu changes often. We'll definitely be back.
We ordered a bunch of appetizers that were grey. The main entree's were meh. The burger was too salty couldn't even finish it. The birria tacos were also meh. Overall way too expensive for this quality of food. We didn't order any alcohol but still paid over $160 for 3 people. They also have a credit card surcharge that wasn't disclosed.
Incredible food! The quesa birria tacos were probably the best I've ever had, the plantains were amazing, and the green chorizo vampiro was incredible—I ordered a second round! You won't be disappointed in the food. The restaurant was noisy, but artsy and had a young crowd. I will certainly be back!
Chilte never disappoints! I tried their tomahawk pork chop and it was really delicious. I dipped every piece of pork in the mole and continued to eat even when I was full. It's definitely a plate for two, but I killed it by myself. Lastly, I had to have Chefs cheese cake that I enjoyed slowly even though I was full. I always visit Chilte when I'm in town and would a thousand percent recommend it to everyone. Just come with an open mind and empty belly.
Nothing on the menu is less than amazing.

Totally blown away by the food here! We were so excited to try Chilte, and it did not disappoint! From the yucca frites, to the hoja santa quesadilla, to the Jamaica birria, to the final bite of cheesecake—DELICIOUS. Our server was so lovely! She knew the menu incredibly well, made great recommendations and even took the time to offer substitutions as available for my husband who is dairy-free. She was so intentional with his order and genuinely cared that we enjoyed our meal. Super cozy and fun atmosphere and well worth it for our birthday dinner! The aioli on those frites was to die for!

Best mole I’ve had since Red Iguana in salt lake. Excellent must have dish, great bartender and good unique quality drinks. Give yourself time to find a place to park. Highly recommend the oxtail mole enchilada type dish.

Okay, breakdown:
The small bites are truly small bites. If you have a party of 4 or more, get 2 of each appetizer you order.
The birria tacos are AMAZING. Omg. You have to order it. I did the flour tacos with beef birria. 10/10.
The atmosphere is very modern and unique, with a blend of club-mexican.

We had a great table outside, heaters on the patio. I like to let staff make recommendations on dishes. Did not disappoint. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating even when I made a mistake on my order.
