There are better Mexican options in the valley. All three tacos I ordered (shrimp, carne asada, and chicken, if I recall correctly) were in desperate need of flavor. The meats tasted bland and unseasoned aside from salt, and none of the toppings could make up for it. The service and ambiance were acceptable.

Kudos to Chef Leo Madrigal who has been offering his culinary expertise for over two decades for his tasty, generous, varied and diverse ingredient combinations. We had not such unique and enticing combinations since our visit to Mexico City. CDMX-style cuisine is what I think exemplifies Cocina Madrigal’s bravura. Here dishes such as their Guacamole de la Casa with Fresh, with jalapenos, cilantro, lime, red onions, and tomatoes, comes close to that of sorely missed Esparza’s Barrio Café rendition. The only experience with the fabulous Wild Mushroom Enchilada with varieties of mushrooms along with ancho mole cream, an incredible avocado relish can only be found in the most outstanding of Mexican restos. The Beef Birria Enchiladas are mouthwatering. Needless to say, I was very satisfied with all the goodies offered, and is definitively a place to return to.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Phoenix. The steak tacos and the fundido cannot be beat!

Parking: Small parking lot , but you can park on the street street.

I just talked to the owner. They had a kitchen fire. Hoping to open again in late October or November. My favorite place near KPHX.So happy they will be back.

The food at Cocina Madrigal is delicious, perhaps one of the best Mexican restaurants in Phoenix. We had the Beef Tenderloin Tacos, Crispy Salmon, Grilled Elote, and Churros, and none disappointed. I've tried corn from lots of restaurants around the valley, and the corn here is hands down the best I've ever had.

Parking: The parking here is limited, so you may have to park on the street in the neighborhood.

We Absolutely Love Cocina Madrigal! we go at least 3-4 times per month Leo and his Son Brian are such wonderful people all the staff is amazing and the food is to die for! Thanks Leo and the Madrigal Family!
