Entitled, dismissive, and disrespectful bartenders, devoid of customer service skills. We spoke with another bartender nearby who mentioned she didn’t have the best experience at this location and felt she was treated differently than her male counterpart. Will not be back.
I came in immediately off a plane from Chicago and am glad I stopped in. The vibes are super relaxed. Most people seated at the bar were strangers, meeting for the first time and chatting amongst themselves - something which is incredibly uncommon nowadays.
I got the shephards pie pasty and it was incredibly delicious. The filling was a little dry but dunking the pasty into the red wine gravy that came on the side really made the dish.
The person I was seated next to lived nearby and had been working his way through the menu. He had nothing but great things to say about the restaurant.
Good company and a menu that had the locals coming back time and time again. If I ever visit Phoenix again, I'll definitely pop back in.
The Oogie is absolutely delicious. The red wine gravy is beefy and the balance was wonderful. The curried potatoes weren't great. But I will try something else next time. The service was quick and the server was kind and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Perfect for students and casual meetups
the fries were burn and was’t the first time
Besides the othet food is good
Great food and service. Perfect after theatre spot
The food here is amazing. We started with a scotch egg followed by the bangers and mash plus the lamb and mint pies. The pastry was light and crisp, the filling filled with meat, and the gravy was excellent. Definitely worth a trip.

Good food and great service from 'Thunder Cats'!
First time to this location (downtown) and it is just as good as Chandler. Nice ambiance, with a feel like you were in a working-class pub in Ireland.

I love the Pilgrim Pasty as I have patronized Cornish Pasty for years. This was my first time going to the downtown location and I was really offended by the service that was rendered this evening. I went to the bathroom to wash up and sat myself down as in the entrance the sign said to seat yourself. I waited patiently for a server to come by and I was not addressed. I got up from my seat to ask an employee if they were a server and that I was ready to order. The manager asked me where I was sitting and I pointed him to my table. The server finally came over to where I was sitting to take my order. I advised the server of my order and my appetizer was brought out immediately. I ordered a glass of water and it was brought out with no straw. I asked the waiter for a straw. I waited patiently again and observed the server attending other customers. I asked the server again for a straw. I waited patiently again. When I got up the server saw me and ran to put a state in my drink after he had touched other things, which is extremely unsanitary. I asked the server to speak to the manager and he asked why I told him I don't like the service I received and I walked back to my seat. The server was still trying to speak to me and I just asked to speak to his manager. I told him I will still pay for my food but I am not staying. He was quick to bring my check but I asked to speak to the manager. Some time passed and I asked another employee to speak to the manager and the manager came and asked what the issue was. I calmly started my grievance and the manager told me that there are straws all over the bar. I asked do other customers get their own straws and then the manager stated do customers tell the staff that they are ready to order. The manager was just as disrespectful as the server. I will not patronize this location again.

I stopped in here with my family for dinner. We ordered four different pastries and fries to share so we could get a nice variety of flavors. We chose the Cottage Pastry, the Pilgrim Pastry, the Chicken Greek Pastry, and the Cubano Pastry. All were tasty, but the Chicken Greek was very heavy on the olives, that flavor overwhelmed all the other flavors, so if you're not a fan of olives don't order that. We also ordered lemonade, which tasted fantastic. Half of the dining area upstairs seemed to be under construction because there was a large black plastic sheet covering one wall. The dining area was clean, but the bathrooms were not great. Also, the music that was playing was not kid-friendly which was disappointing. Overall, the food was good, but next time we'll just order to-go.
Kid-friendliness: The music was loud and vulgar with a lot of curse words. If you don't want the little ones exposed to that, order to-go because the food was great.
