This place doesn’t even deserve a star, their customer service is terrible. If you liked being ignored at the counter when trying to order your food and not welcomed in, also hung up twice on the phone, all because they’re holding an event this may be the place for you. It would have been my first time eating here but sadly I was treated poorly. So I won’t be coming back also I strongly do not recommend, very unprofessional establishment. I would have spent close to $100 today I am happy I saved my money today and every other day I would I have chose to eat there.
My girlfriend and I just came back from first Friday. Her being from the Caribbean wanted to try this place out because we’ve seen it on instagram and saw people were saying good things. She is from the east coast where this type of cuisine is 10/10. Unfortunately our experience was not the same. The girl taking the order was very nice and friendly. We ordered the oxtail, rice and peas and cabbage. She took our order and then we waited for about 10 mins( not long at all) while other customers ordered. There were two couples that ordered after us who received their food before us. Of course they were white. Then served us. The food itself was not good, no flavor and the rice was wet.. like dripping from who knows what. I’m sorry I love my people but it was blatant disrespect and just flavorless food.

Awesome jerk ckicken and guava limeade. The jerk was spicy and very flavorful. The meat was well cooked and the rice, beans and cabbage complimented it well. The cabbage also was also well seasoned. Their menu was very easy to read and see what was gluten free and vegan. The restaurant is cozy and has a welcoming atmosphere. I took my food to go but it's dining room would be a great place to chat over a meal. I'll definitely be back.

How is this not a solid 5 Star rating?!? SMH It was by chance that I stopped by Desert Island Eatery booth. After I tried the sample, I was in. The spicy flavor and tender meat together were cooked to perfection. All gluten free-no soy. I ordered both jerk chicken and ox tail dinners. The rice and cabbage were a great pairing. I can’t wait to order it again.
