1st time there was amazing. I was in the area for a celebration of life service for my aunt. I heard about this place through a FB group and thought I'd try it out. Their food was perfect. I definitely recommend their chicken gravy poured over the rice. Cornbread was on point. I will definitely be heading back that way next time I'm in the area

If you have ever heard the saying “good things, come to those who wait” it doesn’t even compare to what you get from this place! It’s more of excellent things come to those who wait! The flavor, the freshness, and the passion that these ladies put into their food keeps me coming back each week ( sometimes twice a week lol)! When you take your first bite you are instantly realize that you are blessed to taste what real SOULfood tastes like. I had the pleasure of being able to try this at the original location and a couple days later I tried to go back so that way my wife could experience it only to find out that they had closed down. I know myself as well as many others, were excited when they made a quick post a few months later of an upcoming location to open. I went the first day they had their soft opening and was instantly transported back to that first time I had experienced this amazing cuisine. Whether I’m waiting 10 minutes or two hours for my meal from these amazing ladies I will do so with a smile on my face because “GREAT things come to those who wait” p.s. THANK YOU for the service , the dedication , long hours , and hospitality that you provide , it does not go unnoticed !

GREAT FOOD went 25 minutes for it they are busy I would suggest order and eat some where else as the inside is kinda small and it's busy so there is not a lot of space or sitting area available . Parking is on the side restaurant is on the street front .Wait was like 20 minutes not long for how busy they are . Food is good I got the 1 meat 2 sides for 15$ and a kool aid for 3$ for 3 people all same option was 60 dollars. These are 2 of the 3 didn't get a pic of the chicken breast meal . Sides we got are . Mac and cheese 8/10 . Corn on the cob 4/10 no salt no pepper there is butter but it just tastes like nothing. Collared green 7/10 I liked them my friend did not . Yams 6/10 just taste like cinnamon but good . . All the meats are great good sauce on all of them definitely recommend this place. New favorite will be going back

I recently ordered take out from Detroit Soul Food in Phoenix, Arizona, and it was a delightful experience. The lamb chops with collard greens and string beans were cooked to perfection, offering an authentic taste of my parents home.Additionally, the BBQ chicken paired with creamy Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes was equally impressive, creating a satisfying combination of flavors. Moreover, the professionalism of the young lady who took my order. Her courteous and efficient service added to the overall positive dining experience. In closing, Detroit Soul Food in Phoenix is definitely a go-to spot for those craving delicious soulful dishes served with a touch of home, and excellent customer service.

Every time I’ve come here food is alright but service is severely lacking. Hard to support when every time I come here they cancel orders whenever they want or close whenever they want with little to no warning. Wish they could do better.

Pheonix doesn't have much on it's own, but Detroit Soul Food is a suprise of flavor and aesthetic. If you want a comfortable place to eat with delicious flavors, please visit. The koolaid was koolaiding, and if you know, you know. #Diabeetus. I was so suprised that the food was so good since the city itself was so boring. That mac & cheese brought me back to my mother's. Aint no way I'm not coming back. I will tell everyone of my avaition peeps to eat here.

The food is good but they're service is lacking, plus they only open a few days, sometimes I feel like a owners are a bit lazy because they open and close when they want. I love the food but they need to get it together. They need to hire a professional to help them run the place, I promise you guys would be super successful but until then I think you guys a ruin something good. I've been a customer for years an have recently decided to stop supporting you guys until I see some improvements on service. You guys have something good please don't let it got to waste before it's too late, an I know I am not the only local who feels this way. Like why do I have to wait in the building next door for you order? No announcement speaker no nothing to let u know the order is ready, no answer if something wrong with order,no delivery, not enough employees, ect it just feels like you guys haven't took the next steps in the business to take it to the next level. The foods great!! it's all the other services that need work
