I’m only leaving 2 stars because this place has true potential but it’s being wasted on how it’s currently being ran. Every time I come in there I feel like it’s a very standoffish vibe behind the bar with the waitresses working hard but the bartender acting like he can’t be bothered. The food is ok which is expected in a place like this, but for a place that’s supposed to be a UofA/Tucson icon I expected better. I have many friends who went to UofA and raved about the one in Tucson and the PHX location is a stark contrast to that. I wanted to understand why they loved the Tucson one so much but I won’t be able to experience that at the PHX location. I’m saddened to see that management replies to reviews with snarky replies (especially when there’s already only 3.5 stars) when I’m sure everyone would love to see this place improved. Maybe a change in management is needed, right now it’s not cutting it. Would have appreciated it to be a good local watering hole but save your money and go to JT’s or OH-SO. I would be surprised if this place lasts another year unless changes are made.

The a/c was a bit too warm for everyone. I didn't try the food but the service was fast and friendly.

Jonathan the chef (I'm a lily tipsy rn) makes a great solid potato salad and those seasoned tots? Magnifique! The burgers are thick & juicy and the pizza is topped just right. Nicole handles the drought pulls with tenderness and the patrons are lively. Don't be shy. Sit & eat & drink.

When my husband suggested we take the kids to Dirtbags—a place he’d loved for their Reuben—I was honestly a bit hesitant. I wasn’t sure it would be the most kid-appropriate spot. But I’m so glad I agreed to go, because it far exceeded all of our expectations!

The vibe on the Friday afternoon patio was perfect—relaxed, welcoming, and surprisingly family-friendly. There were games to keep the kids entertained, and the menu had something for everyone. Our daughters (6 and 7) devoured the pepperoni pizza, and I went with the patty melt special crafted by Chef Jonathan, which was absolutely delicious.

Our server Nicole was phenomenal—super attentive and incredibly patient with all of our family’s (admittedly high-maintenance!) requests. And to top it off, Chef Jonathan even came out with a special treat for our girls, which totally made their day.

If you’re unsure about bringing the family to Dirtbags—don’t be. Great food, friendly staff, and a fun atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Awful experience. Food took about an hour to come out. We were immediately forgotten about once a big group walked in. They left as we got our food. Never coming back. Forks up. This place stinks

Stopped in on Sunday as we just bought a house in the neighborhood and our son is being recruited to the U of A for football. All we've heard is you have to go to Dirtbags you have to go to Dirtbags. It was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The atmosphere was dead. The bartender, who was a nice lady, was waiting tables and basically doing everything in the bar. She was running around like a chicken with her head cutoff. We placed an order for nachos and it took forever to get them. My wife ordered a burger and wanted fries but they ran out of fries. Not sure how that happens? I ordered a burger also and it was slop and bland with no flavor. Anyway I would be shocked if this place is open in a year. We won't be back.

Do yourself a favor and have Charles make you an espresso martini. We’ve only been here twice and thankfully he’s been our bartender. Cheers
