A walk back into the past. Great service, but the food was just okay. Scallops were very good. New York Strip was overcooked and not very flavorful. Caesar salad was meh. They closed three days after we were there.

Ruth’s Chris has always (for the least 15 years or so, at the least) been mine and my husband’s favorite steak dinner. Been there many times and have always recommended them as the absolute best. We have been to many other high end and highly recommended steak houses. Tonight we tried Durant’s. Wow! Wow is literally the best word I can use to describe this place. The ambience was amazing. The way you get into the restaurant had a speak easy feel to it. Lower lighting to create just a perfect atmosphere. From the bread with an amazing oil herb and mushroom mixture as an appetizer, to the amazing flavor of our perfectly cooked ribeyes. We had garlic mashed potatoes and mushrooms on the side. Even our side salads were of note with perfectly crisp lettuce delicious dressings and real bacon bits in the mix. We managed to pack in a desert. I got the strawberry shortcake and it was absolutely delicious as well. Give this place a try, you will not regret it! So weird for us to admit, but we have absolutely found a steak house that hands down crushes Ruth’s Chris. Marcello was also an amazing waiter. If I could give 10 stars I absolutely would!!! Great job Durant’s keep up the great service!!!

My wife and I have lived in phoenix only for 6 years and have always wanted to have dinner at Duants . We finally did this past New Years Eve. It was a return to my Italian youth in Buffalo NY. Quiet respectful service and beautifully prepared steak. The cocktails and wine well chosen and comfortable tables and booths. So sadly it's closed for an upgrade. I hope the new owner changes nothing but adds ADA bathroom so people in wheel chairs don't have to go down the street.

This long time Phoenix favorite continues to be- It's important to make a reservation. Service is outstanding as well as the steaks. 8 oz Filet is wonderful. You must have the Strawberry Shortcake - large for sharing. The wine list is very good and reasonably priced. It's always fun to enter the restaurant through the kitchen!

What can I say? You're not in business for 70 years unless you're on top of the game. Durant's delivers! Once you walk in through the back the experience begins. Next you're in a classic retro old school restaurant. The service and ambulance matches the decor: elegant and exceptional. A must go. The food!?!? Go! Experience it for yourself. I cannot add anything to enhance the quality of the steaks coming out from that kitchen.
