Amazing food in one of the coolest restaurants around. Love the eclectic hand-decorated chairs by local artists, the funky decor, the art and the lights. And best of all - the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff. ❤️

We had lunch at El Charro on yesterday. It was a Sunday, and we like to brunch. That atmosphere was nice, they had a local jazz artist liven the mood. The servers were friendly, but unorganized. They would bring wrong orders to or table and seemed confused about which table had what order. It wasn't particularly busy, so I wondered why this was happening. We shared the Pibil Bruschetta. The bread was not toasted well enough and the Pabil was not good. I ordered the Ole omelette. It had too many potatoes, and was flavorless. I had to add salt just to eat half of it. They had the Paella sitting on a table as we entered. It did not look inviting. Our service too way to long. El Charro has a nice vibe, but we most likely will not return.

Service was excellent. Chips and salsa was excellent. There were 6 in our party and most of us thought the food was excellent. The dessert orders were huge. We were disappointed that we couldn't make a reservation. Long wait to be seated on a Sunday at 4:45 p.m.

This is different than the Tex-Mex that you find many places. They must use different spices as the taste is different. Was nice to have different tasting tacos, enchillada and tamales compared to the same old... The blackberry maurgarita didn't really taste like blackberry. Parking is right across the street for $5.

This restaurant came highly recommended, which is probably why I was a little disappointed. Our overall experience here was average at best. I was baffled by our server, who was training in new staff. While I could see and hear her interact pleasantly with nearby tables, she was anything but with us from the moment we were seated. Made no sense. The trainee was much nicer. While I was excited to try the Carne Seca, I was disappointed as the seasoning seemed to be salt. Just a whole lot of salt. I tried the Bandera enchiladas and while the other meats (chicken and carnitas) were good, they were very under-sauced and dry. The menu is pretty extensive so I would try the restaurant again, but until then I wouldn't recommend it to friends.

This came highly recommended as the oldest restaurant in Tucson. Busy, but we were seated quickly. Services was friendly and well informed and maybe a little overwhelmed. Portions were indeed healthy! I made a meal out of the stuffed mushrooms, and finished what the rest of my family could not. Delicious and authentic. All types here, from couples, to families, to sorority parties.

You have got to visit this place. The food was amazing. The ingredients were fresh and the drinks were amazing. The prickly pear margarita was phenominal. Everything we had was made with fresh ingredients. Not sure why it is not rated #1. Even the location is cool to visit!!

We stopped in here for lunch and it was great! We had the best margaritas, and chile rellena and enchiladas. The portions are huge, but everything was absolutely delicious. The service was quick and so friendly. We can't wait to come back!

PRO: This place is hopping! We enjoyed an ample meal for a family of four. Serving sizes are generous and food was hot. They have local beer (Dragoon) and Modelo on tap. Next time we'd sit on their patio, as we were visiting in October and the day was mild. There is a separate cantina from the restaurant if you want to keep things adult. CON: Our food took a while. They had two large parties somewhere else in the building, apparently. Ladies' bathroom was out of tp and had to notify management. SUMMARY: Lunch on a Friday wasn't the most relaxing time to dine here, but the food is good and it's a classic Tucson eatery. The decor is fun and beer is cold. We'd come back.

You may have to wait a bit for a table, but you will find eh bartender quite accommodating We started with the plant-based stuff mushrooms. What an interesting and tasty dish! I had the carne seca platter which is also unique. Lady had veggie and mushroom fajitas. Really good and more food than you will probably eat..

This place is really cool and artsy! I went tonight for the first time for open mic. I had the horchata latte and the chorizo tostadas ! So delicious! I love the vibe and the owners are very humble and welcoming! I will be back for sure and I definitely recommend! Very creative and I know the food was made with love! VIVA LA RAZA
