We have been going to El Jefe Tacos since they opened and enjoyed their tacos. But these last two visits have been very disappointing. This visits our taco were so greasy I had to put them on a paper towel. The visit prior to this, the rice was hard and very undercooked. I've noticed the quality of food isn't the greatest when the older gentleman cook is not there, coincidence, not sure? I don't think we'll be going back which is a bummer since I love their El pastor.

Authentic and delicious!! I had the Alpha Burrito, it was really good, seasoned well. It was a tad greasy for my liking but that didn't detract from the overall taste. The staff was so kind and courteous. I want to try almost everything on the menu. I'm definitely going back for a breakfast burrito and birria. I would definitely recommend giving this spot a try.

Great Mexican counter service. The birria here is amazing, house made, and full of flavor and not too greasy. The breakfast burritos are also one of my favorites. Staff is awesome and friendly.

The Birria quesadilla was absolutely amazing!!!! We tried six different sushi rolls that were phenomenal! The customer service was great, they were patient and speedy and checked on us several times. Love love love this place! When we come back to Arizona we will definitely be back!

Birria tacos are really good. Wanted the birria ramen, but it's a little pricey. Still, really enjoyed the birria as well as the chips and guacamole! Also the staff was super nice.

Service is poor or very poor, the staff looks to be always in a bad mood, the person who makes the orders was very rude. I rather go to filibertos, at least the staff is very polite. I would never go back again to this place, and i wouldn't recommend this place to any one. Too bad for El Jefe, they don't realize customer service is priority.
The food is great!!! Take your time or review the menu before you go to the restaurant because it's very traditional and you may struggle figuring out what you want. But believe me it's worth it! I like the toco box because I can eat it by myself or share it with company. My husband like everything specially the Birria quesadilla and the Birria tacos. I prefer cabeza, carne asada, and chicken. There are no waitress staff so be prepare to order when you go to the counter. Also they always look close because the window tint is so dark and hard to see inside, but mostly they are open even on SUNDAYS! enjoy.

First time customer. Ordered a Cali burrito, 2 asada street tacos, and a rolled taco plate for myself and my husband. The food was so bland. The only good item; the black beans. I am full, but so unsatisfied. We won't be a repeat customer.
