Lovely cafe with great vibes. The coffee is great, I got a seasonal latte that was delicious. The customer service was very friendly and welcoming. I don't normally hang out in a cafe by myself but this place felt very inviting so I stayed to enjoy my drink

Early Sunday morning, I was on the hunt for a genuinely good cup of coffee—unfortunately, Esso Coffeehouse missed the mark on nearly every level.
As someone who understands and appreciates the craft of espresso, every step matters: grind freshness, extraction time, temperature, and balance. What I was served lacked boldness, depth, and any real flavor. The espresso tasted flat and lifeless, leading me to suspect old pre-ground beans or poor extraction—either way, the result was disappointing.
The staff spoke confidently, as if they knew the process well, but the final product simply didn’t reflect that knowledge. There’s a big difference between talking coffee and actually delivering it in the cup.
The only real positive? They were open early. If you’re not a serious coffee drinker and just need a quick caffeine fix, this place might suffice. But if you truly enjoy espresso or care about quality and flavor, I can’t recommend Esso Coffeehouse. There are far better options for those who expect more than just “drinkable” coffee.

I love this place so much! It’s walkable for me and my dog, who is welcome inside. Service is always super fast. It’s often busy though so seating may not be available. Cold brew and chai lattes are fantastic, as is the blueberry donut. I go weekly, you should too :)

I am BEGGING you, please open a location on the East side (Gilbert area). We have nothing like Esso around. My husband is in there often & I'm jealous everytime. Their beans are great, but a fresh brewed drink from them is amazing everytime.

Great local coffee, art, gifts and locally sourced cbd products. Beautiful atmosphere but unfussy menu despite having a variety of wonderful options. Friendly staff, great service. Glad I finally stopped here rather than down the street for the same old thing.

We've been here twice now and the product has been excellent. Love the aesthetic, the vibe, and looking forward to trying out a bag of beans at some point. Wish there were a few more food options or snacks other than pastries but still a lovely spot and very worth checking out.
We LOVE Esso Coffee! My husband stops in once a week to buy a fresh bag of their beans- their coffee is delicious! Better than anything in the East Valley, imo! (Plus, the service is always great and the place is super cute, too) 🤗☕️😍

Great espresso. Had a triple espresso brewed over three ice cubes to cool it down. You know it is good coffee when you can drink it without having to add sugar or creamers.
Update 6/1/2025: Esso is still a great place to hang. Great customer service. Had an Americano, it was perfect. Also had a Prickly Pear Tea.

I always try to support small business and try not to go to big corporations like Starbucks but never knew a small business would do another business so dirty. Never met the owner but heard from her employees that she throws away small business owner’s cards… very disappointing and will never return. People put their hard work and their own money into creating these cards, just for them to be thrown away?? You guys lost a regular… very disappointing
