Ezekiel's is the best southern cooking in the East Valley!! Sad to say they have been closed due to family illness and now their phone number is disconnected. Hate to see this gem close down. Pray the family is doing ok!!

Does anyone know why this is closed permanently? What happened??? So sad. Loved their chicken.

There is talk Ezekial's has the best fried chicken in town. I had to taste it for myself. Hot. Crunchy batter. Juicy tender chicken. Flavor was mild. A little like Church's. Great tasting chicken. Fried catfish was battered in cornmeal. Texture was crunchy. This dish was very light in flavor. Pork ribs were covered in a sweet sauce which had a bit of spice. Ribs were mostly tender except for a few burnt parts at the edges. Pretty good. The owner Chad was very friendly and engaged in lengthy conversation with customers that showed up before me. I loved the fried chicken but I'd have to try some more fried chicken spots in town before I could confirm or deny it's the best.

Best soul food in Arizona, no question. Others have tried but never come close!!!!! The fried chicken, Mac and cheese, greens, and candied yams are consistently delicious. All of them are always cooked to perfection, extremely flavorful, and with great portion sizes

Went here to have the famous catfish that everyone raved about. Was totally disappointed with it. No flavor, tough like it was overcooked .. Didn't even eat the sides cause we were truly not feeling it anymore. Not a good experience at all. Would not recommend

I love this place and was so excited to go. We placed our order ahead of time and it said it’d take 25 mins. We got there in 30 mins and the guy hadn’t even started our order. No apology- no nothing. Just said, “they didn’t see the order”... well why have online ordering if you don’t look at your orders? There was someone else there who placed an order - call ahead-at 2:40pm and he was still waiting with us.Its hard to support black business with this going on. Mistakes are fine - lack of care is the problem.

Horrible, Mac n cheese dry, chicken tough and dry, threw everything away. It was a terrible meal.

Very rarely do I throw food away, this was awful. The greens were mostly HUGE stems, they were bitter and tasted off. The catfish crust was thick and mealy. There was more flour than cornmeal so no crunch. The fish was not fresh it should be flakey it was mushy tasted terrible. The Mac and cheese had separated and had a weird sweet taste to it. After 4 bites of food it went into the trash! Later that night my husband and I were sick to our stomachs. Eat at your own risk!

Food is great, but I will not return until covid is over or they start implementing covid precautions. When I went to pick up food, there were 3 customers who were also picking up food and they were not wearing masks. The owner was not wearing mask and the server was wearing the mask on her mouth or on her chin. While i was there, the owner came out and sitting in the dining area and started chatting loudly with the other customers who were not wearing mask.

Excellent food, great customer service. This is a hidden gem and we're coming back this week! Try the ribs, falling off the bone. The baked mac & cheese was so yummy, no box stuff imitating real food. Hubs is in love with the seasoned cabbage. Everything was so good, can't wait to try everything on the menu!

This review is a long time coming. Sad to say, I ate here a few years ago and had a great experience and meant to leave a review then, but forgot. I was so relieved when I saw that not only were they still in business but had accumulated mostly excellent reviews. My first experience, as i recall, was dining inside. There was a large jovial man (I assume was the owner) who talked to everyone and not just because it was good for business, but because he genuinely liked people. All people. It took about 15 min of sitting in his restaurant to feel like I was dining at his house. I loved the warmth he exuded and I kicked myself for not going back sooner. So fast forward to 11/6/20 Pandemic-style dining had Postmates deliver Ezekiel’s to my doorstep. I made sure to order extras so I could sample lots of things. 1. Ribs 2. Mashed Potatoes. 3. Fried Chicken. 4. Cole Slaw. 5. Beans. 6. Macaroni and Cheese. 7. Cornbread. It was as if nothing had changed in two plus years. Mind you, it’s not food that my cardiologist would endorse, but man, when i need a good helping of comfort food done so well I feel like I’m part of their family, this is now the only place i will turn to. I won’t bore you with the food critic write up, but damn, they make great food, everything I ordered was excellent. And there was not one side dish that I tasted that wasn’t made from scratch - I can spot food service sides a mile away. I am glad they are still around and I will definitely not wait very long to go back. Thank you Ezekiel’s for caring about the food you make. It shows in every bite. See you very soon.

Went to Ezekiel's today, we are from Tucson, ordered their chicken, mashed potatoes and coke slaw. Everything was very delicious and very tasteful. this reminded us of a place in Memphis. I tried the colored greens(never had them) and they were also very good. thier cornbread was even very good. We ordered extra food to bring home. We will for sure make this place a Phoneix stop. Outstanding service and quality.
