I was disappointed. I had Navajo tacos at a POW WOW years ago, was craving that taste again and didn't find it.

I had spotted Fry Bread House ages ago while browsing the map for something a little out of the ordinary compared to what I can find on the central coast of California and finally got to try it.
I'd had plain fry bread decades ago at some roadside stands in the Mojave but never something as hearty and tasty as an Indian taco.
The red chili beef was fatty and rich and while the pillowy fry bread started getting soft fast from all those meat juices the edges still had a crisp shell and the whole thing was marvelously chewy. I had one with meat, beans, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce. It was hard to detect the bean flavor (which I love) but the whole thing was so so delicious, and it's no wonder why they've been around for decades.
The space was super casual and very busy even at a late lunch bustling with pickup orders and patrons filling almost every air conditioned seat. The staff was friendly and clearly enjoyed their time cooking and chatting and shouting out orders. I loved the mix of folks there from old ladies to construction workers and if you can you really should dine in as those rolls of paper towels on the table come in handy chowing down on these beasts. Go here for a taste of the southwest and something a little out of the ordinary.

Enjoyed their posole, plain fry bread, cinnamon & sugar fry bread, and watermelon & jalapeno drink.

The overall look is cute but the food is mediocre at best. Came here for the last time earlier last week. The cashier has a horrific attitude and dumb look on her face. Can barely hear but is the one taking orders? I don’t see a maximum capacity sign anywhere ?? and this place is often filled I truly don’t know why. I’d been coming here for years especially as a devoted patron to their former location I don’t have any desire to come back again

This is definitely one of those mom and pop shops. Not fancy but great food and something different to eat in the Phoenix area

I was finally able to visit this.establishment and was blown away by the fry bread. I ordered the ultimate taco with red chili and it was so good. I wish I had known about this place long before today. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was clean and cozy. I really enjoyed it all and will be returning as soon as I can.

Amazing. Quick to turn out food. Hopping on a weekday lunch. One of the best things I’ve eaten in a while.

The food is delicious and authentic 😋 with great service. The sitting area is a bit small so beat the lunch rush if dont want to be standing around

I absolutely love this little gem! The food and staff is amazing!
The fry bread reminds me of the food back home in in NM.
I’ve been coming here for years and noticed that they recently changed the tip options from the smaller amount being on the left to the opposite with the highest amount on the left.
That’s a sneaky tactic and a little shady if you ask me. Still love this place though.
Love the foodGood people definitely deserve the james beard award
The reviews brought us in and the food made us stay.
We ordered the birria, combo taco, and a cheese melt. All three were amazing. Loaded with meat and all the toppings, they didn't skimp out on any of it. I had so much birria that it fell out of the bottom of mine and was able to be added to the cheese melt.
I was so full, I took it with me and it was just as delicious reheated the next day.
The restaurant itself was very crowded but we were able to snag a table before our food was ready. The soda machine was down but the tea was freshly made and delicious.
