“Bar 1 has been my favorite LBGTQ+ bar since I moved to Phoenix in 2005. if you enjoy the patio scene, it's always full of interesting conversations you could jump into. Inside you have your choice, sit on the leather couches alongside the fireplace, stand, sit at the retro style bar table *yes its a full length table in one, made from concrete with plenty of bar stools to find a seat, even easier to jump into a conversation for as long as it lasts or sit comfortably, chat with anyone who came with you - there are also a few other tables you can sit at as well.. In additional there's a full bar to sit around where you can normally find someone interesting to talk to - where you or they initiate. The atmosphere if you enjoy relaxing with a drink, it incredible. Almost EVERY bar is dark with empty black ceilings showing all the air & water pipes. Not Bar 1, the ENTIRE ceiling is filled with all types of chandeliers & other lighting that will warm you as hot outside it or how many inside Bar 1, is always a perfect. You will notice as you come in is the 2 pool tables & Dart Boards if your feeling a little antsy do something ese for a while. OVERALL I find Bar 1 to be for me - if you enjoy extremely loud music to dance to, whether you can hear anyone talking to you or not - Bar 1 may not be your first choice, but it will become that to you at some point! Last, point is you can't blame Bar 1 for this however, you may find some a bit rude or snobbish, etc - these are the groupies that have known each other 4yrs old to their current age that can't seem to break away f hey wanted to. They will be very conversational with you until their group comes in, then they no longer know you the rest of the night (hence - groupies), thankfully there aren't too many, depends on the night - those evenings the could looks great & more intimate. Hope you make it in, it will become your hanging place after work forward. Thanks“
“This place is awesome! Eclectic decor and very friendly staff and owners... makes you wanna come back. This is the oldest gay bar in AZ but it's really an everyone bar, so welcoming! No food but great drinks and snacks if you wish. There's different activities going on every night. Check them out on Facebook or Instagram
Parking: If the lot is full you can park at the post office across the street.
Wheelchair accessibility: Both entrances, bar and the restroom is wheelchair accessible.“
“It's a great place if you like men. Young men middle-aged men old men skinny men fat men you name it. It's a great Brotherhood of gay men who for the most part are NOT sissies. The bartenders at night are as good as they come so don't pay any attention to the crappy reviews that some people have left about the bartenders. But that said, the emphasis in this bar is being a man and liking men. No offense to women by the way but of all the bars to go to this would be the one you might want to avoid out of respect for your gay men friends who like to be around gay men“
“This was a great place to hang out on New Year 2025. Met a lot of new friends and had a swinging good time. The service for getting drinks was challenging and the layout was cramped for the size if the crowd bartenders did an amazing job
Wheelchair accessibility: I dont think this place is to friendly for wheel chair folks. for them service would be best on the lower level but using the bathroom may pose a challenge“
“This is one of Phoenix's treasures. Always welcomed and a good time. If you're in the Phoenix area on a Wednesday night, this is the spot for good music, people and drinks“

“I had not been here since the move from the old location (moved out of state). The bar was well done. Inside was stylish, and a great outside area as well. The woman bartender was friendly and chatty. If I lived here I would make this a regular place to visit! On a Thursday around 4, the bar was quiet but guys were starting to come in. I'll have to make it back this trip at a busier time to feel the vibes when it's more crowded!“
“This the best taco truck in Phx.. I'll travel all over the city to eat here weekly lol! thank you Charlie's Taco for meeting the match to my Soul Food and allowing your business to create beautiful moments and memories with my family and friends. “Great Karaoke bar watch your jacket…someone took my sport coat I took off and put over a chair. It was a jacket from my grandpa. Maybe a coat check by bartender would be useful and safe for belongings. Lucky no wallet in jacket. Will be in soon on weekend. If I come naked remember my Grandpa made me do it!! Peace, Love and Blessings… KAL“
