So glad I found this place! As someone who grew up with this cuisine, I loved everything I tried. It's such a cute little spot with great service.

I only recommend because of the lack of other option. My wife was ok with her Relleno plate except the portion of beans was very small especially since they were out of rice. I my self did not enjoy any of my food I had ordered the carne adovada tacos which looked great but lacked in flavor and were to soggy. Again the portion of beans wasn’t enough for even a child’s plate. They substituted me for a ralleno which I got but it was soggy and did not seem to be fried or at least it wasn’t fried to order. We are both born and raised New Mexicans and NMC critic. The server was nice and the owner (chef)seemed in hurry even though we were the only people there. I will go again and try something else. I so bad wanted them to be good.

I have not been at the restaurant but I tried a breakfast burrito at the Farmers Market. It was delicious, it was fresh and tasted home made. I’m definitely gonna try the restaurant.

Great little restaurant with a cozy indoor and outdoor seating area. Owner was the only one working and his service was excellent and food came out fast. I'm from New Mexico and the chili was on point. The green was great and made me feel like I was in NM. Had the chicken burrito and it was delicious. Definitely a great place for a traditional NM meal.

Food was great portions very generous! Would give it 5 stars except I ordered take out and got home and dove in and realized they didn't give us any salsa in the take out bag. I blame myself I should have asked if there was any salsa that I can take home with me. If you order take out ask for salsa.

This place has GREAT food! I highly recommend Gil's Taste of Taos! I've had trouble finding authentic Mexican food in N. Phoenix until now. Thank you!

Stopped into Gil's for a quick dinner. This is a cute lil spot. The staff was lovely. Food was pretty good! The beans are great and my husband and I both tried dishes with the green chili sauce. The shredded chicken definitely suits that sauce better than beef. The prices were fair. There's a lot of heart in this small business. Totally worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.

Excellent food served by quality folks. One of the best meals I’ve had in Phoenix. Wish I’d had space in the belly to try their sopaipilla

Quaint Mexican dive with odd hours, closed on the weekends and split open hours during the week as they are closed from 2-5pm. The food was good, staying with traditional New Mexico style of cooking, not your typical enchilada sauce here as to green or red sauce or salsa verde and salsa rojo. Try the christmas tree style burrito or chile relleno, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I was hoping this would have been phenomenal but is was not. The rice was undercooked and hard, the Red & Green burritos were bland and very little flavor. I'm glad I tried it but it fell short of what I was expecting.

In Phoenix for some medical appointments. Being from Albuquerque, it's hard for me to find Mexican food here that doesn't have cilantro, which taste like soap to me. I was over the moon when I saw gills taste of Taos I couldn't ask for anything better. Red chili from Chimayo green chili from hatch. Reminds me of Home if you want true New Mexican food, this is where you need to go I would give it six stars if I could.
