Okay I came here for lunch and ended up getting the Khao soi. I saw a review that said it wasn’t as great as chiang mai, but having gone to chiang mai in October and falling in love with this damn dish, I was longing to have some, even if it was sub par.

Let me tell you - definitely not sub par. Literally think I fell in love all over again with Khao soi.

It’s amazing - get it. The medium spice level was perfect for me, no sweating involved

Visited Glai Baan while in Phoenix. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, and the service was warm and genuinely welcoming from the moment we walked in. Dan, the owner, greeted and seated us himself, setting the tone with heartfelt hospitality. It’s hard to believe this charming space was once a 1954-era Dairy Queen — the transformation is impressive and full of character. We tried several of the Thai dishes thoughtfully curated by Cat, Dan’s partner and a Bangkok native — each one soulful, beautifully balanced, and packed with authentic flavor. Overall, an absolute gem and a spot I’d return to without hesitation. Saluti

Incredible! Everything was delicious, from the cocktails to the mains. Loved the skewers the most, and every dish was well-balanced and perfectly seasoned. Friendly service, expect a bit of a wait for a table.

Beautiful vibe especially when the sun is down. The food is incredible. The drink menu looks fantastic and the one I had was very nice. The panang was amazing. Will be coming back over and over again.

This small place is so great but you have to reserve. And when they say spicy they mean S-P-I-C-Y! I'm talking Thai spicy and it hurts so good!

Very tasty Thai food with exceptional service, very friendly staff, and a really cute restaurant.
We ate outside and had the phad thai, pork skewers (YUMMY), and a couple of thai beers. This is obviously a family owned restaurant as they care about every customer that walks in the door and serves them with a 100% attention. We ate outside in the courtyard and had a great time. We will return.

As someone that has had LOTS of Thai food, this restaurant serves awesome food with a really cool atmosphere and welcoming staff. I came here for lunch and sat on the patio, if the weather is nice I’d highly recommend getting a seat outside. Here’s my review of everything I got:

1. Peek gai tod (chicken wings) - $14
Really fresh and hit my table piping hot. Super crispy wings seasoned well and served with their sweet & spicy dipping sauce. It was 5 chicken wings and they were amazing, definitely will get those again.

2. Pad Thai with chicken - $20
Definitely one of the best pad Thai’s I’ve ever had. When ordering they ask how spicy you’d like it 1-5, I got mine at 3 which was a comfortable amount of spice, nothing over bearing. Not overly sauced with a good amount of chicken, I’d get it if you want something simple but classic.

3. Mango sticky rice - $10
I wasn’t intending on getting any dessert, but you can never say no to a mango sticky rice. Warm soft sticky rice with fresh mango and the coconut sauce was amazing. I couldn’t imaging coming here and not getting it.

5. Thai iced tea - $5
This is also a non negotiable when I go to a Thai restaurant. Not overly sweet with the classic Thai tea flavor, it’s a must.

All in all, I do believe this is some of, if not, the best Thai food in Arizona. As a first timer at this place I kept it simple to test the waters and I have no complaints. You can always tell a good Thai restaurant by the way they prepare the classic dishes. Needless to say, they did it extremely well. If you have the time, please stop by and give it a try, you won’t regret it.

This place exceeded our expectations. We went here for a late lunch and loved it. The place is cute and comfortable, but small, so space is limited. The service was friendly and kind, helpful, and attentive. The gentleman at the door was lovely! The food is the star of the show. We had a few starters and 2 main dishes followed by dessert and WOW! Every dish was just the right portion and packed with flavor. The mango sticky rice was devine and the best we ever had. Parking can be challenging if you go during their rush hour, and the entrance is a door facing the street covered by green foliage. We went on a Friday around 1:30PM and waited 20 minutes for a table, but noticed that after 2PM the crowd began to thin out. If you go during the week, go between 2PM and 5PM. Patio is cute and a great seating option during nice weather. We look forward to going back and trying more dishes, so we will be back for sure!

Slow service, decent cocktails, and more slow service. This was my first time dining at this restaurant and I was made to feel that it is exclusive by the fact that just minutes after opening, 4 PM, atleast three of the seats at the bartop were reserved. Further exclusivity is marked by the fact that management does not respond to Google reviews whatsoever.

Now comes the service. I ordered a beer and a salad; it took more than 45 minutes for the salad to be delivered. The customers at the bar, both the individual to my left as well as the couple to my right were receiving plate after plate of food (6 plates in total) before I asked to cancel the food order and close my check. The solo diner sitting next to me received his entree before the appetizer. His appetizer had almost no color in the dish.

The head chef came out and explained to me that the couple dining to my right were friends and from that I was to presume why they were being delivered food to the bartop in almost rapid fire succession. The chef also explained that my salad did not come from their station. Chef comped my salad and a beer, however, service speed did not improve. The salad was mildly spicy, but did not have the traditional flavors of Thai papaya salad, in comparison to my entree which had a little flavor but was relatively dry with almost no spice at all. I was never asked about what heat level I preferred for my food and ordering drinks was a little unusual.

The bartender did get the chef involved earlier in the evening to recover the service for me, initially, although food service delivery did not improve. While ordering cocktails, the bartender would not acknowledge the order with any words or actions to the point where when the cocktail was put in front of me I was unsure as to whether it was the beverage I had ordered. Otherwise, the bartender was pleasant and offered an insight into another local business in the neighborhood.

Would I go back here? Probably not, and here are the reasons why:

(1) As someone who has spent 5 months, mostly in the Isaan province of Thailand, at the border, Nong Khai, as well as in Laos, I can say the food is far from authentic.

(2) The exclusivity and out of touch managerial style the business represents in their lack of presence on Google is off-putting.

(3) The communication in the kitchen appears to be lacking and though I made them aware of how long I waited for a salad the speed did not improve for the delivery of my entree. You can expect to wait at least 1 hour 20 minutes for your food to arrive (this was my experience and is also consistent with other reviewers).

(4) I would rather eat at a well organized established Americanized Thai restaurant than a restaurant which does not know what it is and is representing something which it is not.

(5) As a single diner, I tend to dine and drink at bartop spaces and the barstools here are incredibly uncomfortable. Aside from being uncomfortable at the bar, inside dining (which I generally choose over outside) is cramped.

Thai-Cuisine-Experienced review:
Mind you - most famous and allegedly “best Thai” place in Phoenix, as I was told. Expectations were high.
What nobody told me (possible because they didn’t know better) - it is not authentic Thai flavors at all. It is, like many places in Phoenix, Americanized cuisine. Pad Kee Mao had zero wok hei. The Panang curry was neither Panang nor curry… Papaya Salad didn’t have spicy/sour flavors which it should.
And on top of all that - prepare to wait 1.5h++ on the waitlist, because literally everyone in Phoenix goes here and they don’t take reservations.
Don’t get me wrong - not a bad restaurant at all. But nowhere near its reputation. Lower your expectations and prepare to wait.

On a Saturday night, we waited 90 min for be seated for my son's birthday. Which is apparently the norm for this restaurant. We ordered our appetizers and entries. Appetizers came out in 10 min. Then we waited and waited for our main course to be served for like 60 min. I tried to wave down our waiter and she avoided our table. I had to get up and talk to Dan the front host to ask about our food. Once the food came out it was cold. My wife and sons walked out. I still paid for a terrible service and food. $126 for terrible and disappointing evening. I am not sure what the hype is all about. No apologizes from anyone. All The waiters and Host. None.
