Greektown is one of those places where the personality is part of the meal, and that is not a bad thing.

We went for the first time and ended up getting steered toward the “secret platter.” I was originally debating between the gyro platter and a pasta special with kabab meat, but the waiter suggested the secret platter instead. It was gyro meat plus two kababs, and honestly, that was the right move. Everything was well seasoned, juicy, and had that classic lemon, garlic, olive oil Greek flavor profile. It felt like I got the greatest hits on one plate.

My plate also came with a bowl of lemon soup, which was excellent. Bright, comforting, with rice and a hint of lemon. It was one of those extras that quietly stands out.

My wife was not as hungry and ordered the gyro sandwich. Smart call. The gyro was flavorful and satisfying without being overwhelming, and it still let her steal bites off my plate. She especially liked that the tzatziki was on the side so she could add as much as she wanted to each bite.

We considered spanakopita but passed, and I am glad we did. Portions here are generous, and we would not have had room for dessert otherwise.

Speaking of dessert, we gave in and tried it. It was amazing. Rich, indulgent, and absolutely too much food for where we were at by that point. For a first visit, I had to try it. Next time, I would probably skip dessert simply because the main courses are more than enough.

The vibe is old school Greek restaurant with murals, music, and a strong owner presence. Service is confident and opinionated in a way that works if you lean into it.

This is not a trendy minimalist spot. It is a place that knows what it is and does it well. We will be back, just a little smarter about portion strategy next time.

I've gone to this restaurant 4 times now and each time the food has been great. However, the real shining star of this restaurant is the service. It is a true family run business using recipes passed down within their family. They are SUPER friendly and genuinely interested in making your experience great. The last time I was there I was debating between 2 items and our waiter generously offered to just make 1/2 portions of both so I didn't need to choose...who does that!?!?.
I usually only write review to call out really good or really bad service. High recommend to check them out!

Hands down, the best calamari in Phoenix. The restaurant’s style and the staff’s charisma elevate the meal into a complete dining experience.

12/19/25: Still an excellent dining experience. We hadn't been here since they renovated a year or so ago. All but the Mom came by our table and we never wanted for anything; they were all on top of their game. Food, service, ambiance, Greektown has it all.

Appetizers: feta & olives plus saganaki. Awesome. Meal: capama & chops. Double awesome! The chops were perfectly seasoned, and the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender. Dessert: baklava cheesecake. I don't typically like cheesecake, but this was not the over-the-top richness it usually is. Delicious.

2/13/22: We hit Greektown for the second time a few weeks ago but darn it I never reviewed them after the first visit. It was fantastic, then and now! The building does not look like a typical restaurant, but the parking is rather spacious. My only bummer comment would be the lighting in the lot is a bit dark, but if I recall one of the lights was out.

On each visit we had a different son tend our table, and on both visits, they treated us like family. No one put on airs, they are all down to earth and more than happy to offer suggestions. All of the staff was smiling and laughing, boisterous and noisy. Both times plates were smashed after the staff sung happy birthday to a patron. Opa!

Unfortunately, I can't remember everything we ordered from either visit, but I do know we didn't order the same thing twice - and everything was wonderful. It was hot, it was well displayed. If you want great Greek food, you have to try Greektown. And if for some odd reason you don't like it or have a bad experience, then there is something wrong with you, not the restaurant or staff. LOL!

Stepping through the door was transportational. The atmosphere of GreekTown captures the Mediterranean. George was so much fun, and make sure to let him know if it’s your first time at the restaurant ;) Dimitri was our waiter, and he made us feel like family. Best Kalamari I’ve ever had! Great Amber Greek beer! We really want to get the gyros for take out one of these nights.

First of all the restaurant is family owned and operated. They make you feel like your one of their family! One of the owners( the father) greets you at the door, seats you , takes your order, brings your food, AND entertains you! He personally acknowledged our graduate, and 2 birthdays in the restaurant, out loud to the entire restaurant! Now the food…. OUTSTANDING Greek food. Great selection, of salads and entrees and is prepared perfectly! Great Greek dessert platter. Genuine Greek drinks, and beer. Reasonable prices! In our visit we also met the rest of the family, his wife, and
2 sons, who also served us. They even took pictures with us! 5 stars HIGHLY reccommended. Could not have ended our vacation any better. Next time I’m back in the area, I will go back!
