Hana Japanese Eatery is hands down my favorite sushi spot—not just in Phoenix, but in all of Arizona. The vibe is warm, welcoming, and authentically local—a neighborhood spot that feels both elevated and grounded.
The quality of the fish is absolutely off the charts—the kind of freshness and melt-in-your-mouth perfection you usually only find oceanside. Every bite is crafted with precision and respect for the art of sushi. The presentation? Impeccable. The flavors? Unforgettable.

We arrived right when the restaurant opened and we were treated with immense hospitality! Everything came out quickly and the food was prepared well. I would have to recommend the scallop special to anyone going here; it was delicious!

Stop by. Super tasty sushi!! We had yellowtail, rainbow roll, caterpillar roll, and their signature Hana roll. Don’t miss their poki chips as well. Some solid signature rolls, a variety of Japanese whiskies, and beers along with unique cocktails. Fresh wasabi!!!!

This restaurant deserves all 5 stars. The Itamae (head sushi chef) took the time out to explain the different styles and types of dishes. I definitely will be going back there to try the other sushi that recommended.

This has been our go to sushi place for a while now ...we visit about twice a month and the food has always been so fresh and amazing.....
Unfortunately the last 2 times the quality is completely different ?. Not sure what changed but the food is really bad. The fish has an odor and is definitely not bright and vibrant as we were used to.
I assumed last time we visited it was a fluke but after this happened to us yet again ...Unfortunately I have no desire to come back and we ended up throwing most of the sushi away because we didn't want to eat fish that wasn't fresh.
Really disappointed and so sad to have to find a new restaurant ?

This place is so yummy and cool! Baked salmon roll is my favorite sushi ever! Just a massive explosion of flavor, so epic. One time they had the boozy hot chocolate and it was perfect! Hope they bring it back soon, ?
