Asked for the fish fried hard, but the crust slid right off and the fish wasn’t even done — super slimy. The wings didn’t seem fresh at all, looked like they were refried. Fries had no seasoning annd soggy! Only decent thing was the sauce. If you’re from Chicago, you know this is a disgrace.

I’ve been ordering Harold’s online for the past 3 weeks due to a co worker reccomendation. I always order the same thing the 4 piece with fry’s all smothered in sauce. I’ve noticed each time I place my order online it only shows order preparing. I could wait up to 30 mins and never receive any notification that my order is ready for pick up. Surprisingly the last 3 times I’ve gone to pick up my food it was ready upon pick up although I never got a notification that it was ready for pickup. On this last 4th visit I went to pick up my food and was told by the young light skinned female up front that she could not find me or my coworkers order. She then went back to speak to an older light skinned woman and the returned back saying my order had already been picked up. Not only had my order been claimed to pick up but my co workers order as well according to both ladies working there. My question is shouldn’t you be checking receipts before just handing out online orders? How can you let not 1 but 2 orders get picked up without verification. I was told that I had to wait 30 mins for the food to be done keep in mind I only have a 30 min lunch. After waiting 30 Mins the young female returned to the front with both orders hot and fresh. She never once apologized for giving away our orders and she had the audacity to try and charge me $1 for extra hot sauce. I asked her shouldn’t the extra sauce be free she told me no and that I had to pay for it. I gave her an explanation of what happen and she went to get the older woman from the back. The older woman from the back came back stating that I needed to pay for the sauce and that they couldn’t help that both my orders got picked up due to me coming in 30 mins later after placing my order for pick up. The food is good here but the customer service and management is horrible. They do not seek to understand customers frustration and although they were in the wrong they treated me like I was scum all because I asked for extra sauce. I will never return back to this location unfortunately they could care less about a customers frustration due to a mistake that was made on their end.

Unfortunately Harold's opened 30min (11:30am) late then didn't have any gizzards, okra or sweet potato cheesecake (but have the sign up posting it)🙄 . Really disappointing to see they haven't improved after a few years 😕

Food is amazing but the customer service is foul there’s a lady I wish I knew her name but didn’t welcome us in ask if it was our first time nothing she had a bad attitude even taking the order . Asking for a name for the order and because we didn’t respond right away very rudely asks if I know my name or not . If it was a person like really reviewing this place on social media this would be a bad example to go off of do better

It would be a good place to start a restaurant. They were out of almost everything. Although the food was made to order and hot, they put lemon powder all over the chicken and the fries, which in my opinion, was nasty. Husband's thighs were good.

I’m really disappointed with my experience here. According to both the store signage and the website, Harold’s closes at 9:30pm, with orders being cut off 30 minutes prior—which means the last order should be accepted at 9:00pm.
I arrived at 8:45pm, a full 15 minutes before that cutoff, after driving all the way from Surprise, AZ. Instead of being able to order, my friend and I found the door locked. The staff looked directly at us but made no effort to explain. We even tried calling while standing outside, only to watch them ignore the ringing phone.
This was frustrating, especially as someone from Chicago who grew up on Harold’s. Back home, they would have at least honored their posted hours or made an effort to help. Here, it felt like the staff simply decided to shut things down early, regardless of what the signage said.
With so many Chicagoans living in Arizona who crave Harold’s, this kind of service is disappointing. I’ll probably come back, but only during lunch hours from now on, because I can’t trust the evening staff to honor the hours they advertise.

The worst Harold’s Chicken Ever!!!! This place is supposed to be a legendary restaurant from CHICAGO… this establishment has been run down & has only gotten worse since the day they opened. Lack luster customer service! Food that tastes like it was fried in stale old grease & as far as the inside of the restaurant, they should definitely do a deep cleaning..! I am really sad I have to leave this review.. please do better Harold’s please!
