Disgusting, I ordered a “ Medium “ burger and was served literally raw uncooked beef, no idea what happened, I didn’t realize this until after I took a bite and was met with a horrendous texture, awful experience. They offered to make me another one, but it’s safe to say my appetite is not going to be returning for meat for sometime. I just walked out, appalled.
I've been coming to this place since I was a teenager so since moving back to tukee, I'm so stoked that this place is still thriving! I looove their chips and salsa. when I was a teenager I would come mostly for that and a quesadilla. the tomatillo salsa is amazing! I usually go more lunch food than breakfast, I feel like vegetarian breakfast options are pricey for what they are (however this complaint is not unique to hillside). I don't eat meat so I love that they don't upcharge for substituting a veggie pattie. overall I recommend this place a ton to people who want a unique, local spot in ahwatukee. the menu is extensive and I'm impressed by the amount of options in the kitchen. everything I've had has been tasty although I will say it depends on what you get for feeling like you got a good bang for your buck. some of the dishes, like the guacamole, is expensive for the portion and it doesn't have any salt, which is interesting. the veggie torta is incredible, I'd recommend that over the veggie burrito, the sautéed veggies are pretty oily which made the burrito a lot messier. still good just harder to eat. my chai was great and the staff have always been courteous.
Amazing little gem. Amazing friendly staff. we love that we're able to have our puppies on the patio. The food was amazing. The crepes were really good.
Coffee is a bit weak, and they charge extra for things like hashbrowns (which are delicious there) - that's unusual. My lox open sandwich was tasty but pretty small, but the torta someone in the party ordered was big enough to share, so I don't leave hungry.
All in all, I liked the place: I appreciate they use a lot of local produce, and some menu items are different from the usual omelets you find everywhere in the valley
Hands down my favorite place in Ahwatukee. After every mountain bike ride at SoMo, me and the boys hit up hillside for a wide selection of craft beers, even after a 8am Sunday ride-they don’t judge, the best pancakes I’ve ever had and I’m not a pancake guy, the most amazing chorizo breakfast burrito and I am a breakfast burrito guy, great staff not afraid to bust your balls if they like you, and an even better laid-back atmosphere. This place is a real gem.

Breakfast food is average. Had much better omlettes at other places in the past, but was fresh. Sandwiches are good, but fries lacked crisp and flavor. Waitress was awesome and people around were lively and all seemed friendly and happy they were there. That makes it a good place to go. Probably better in warmer weather with patio.

Had to ask to get my mocha which sat for some time at the bay. I ordered an omelet with hash browns and toast. My omelet had the wrong cheese which I asked for cheddar and got mozzarella and was missing the green chilies. Most boring omelet I ever had. Waiter wrote our order on his hand. The hash browns looked wimpy like strings of charred potatoes barely even there to satisfy. My toast seemed old and dry like it had been sitting there for some time. I'm annoyed

The restaurant was very nice and we asked to sit outside. Our table was directly in the sun until a waiter offered to put up a parasol for us. The service was good but I think the food was a bit sub par. I also had to specifically ask for sugar after I got my coffee. We got an avocado toast with an egg and a breakfast burrito. They were okay, nothing amazing. The waiter was very sweet though.

The first visit we were greeted by whom I believe may have been the owner.
Today was my second visit in which I happened to bring a family member along.
I would like to think that this is an inclusive space, but this trip today..I had a couple seated across from me where the husband simply kept rolling his eyes in disgust.
My educated guess is that caucasian patrons are not used to seeing African American patrons?
I’ve added a picture of the patron who had an eye rolling problem….. though I didn’t realize he was in the picture until writing this review.
It was the most baffling experience as my family and I go out to eat often, and Rarely experience this type of behavior from others while eating. It was very weird to say the least..
Matthew was the best host that we could have had, and the food is warm but good.
Won’t be back for a little while, but maybe management will consider adding a sign that says “All are welcome” if this is truly the case.
