Quite possibly the worst dining experience of my life.

I'm at a loss for explanation and think this may have been some avant-garde performance piece on poor service as art. If it was performance art? Well done.
If this is their best foot forward...they need dramatic shifts.

The initial server is pleasant but withdrawn and apologetic about everything. We couldn't hear her over the music.

The music was loud enough to be obnoxious in a night club. I expected something a little more low key for their pricing tier.

They were out of 2 of their 3 platters (the whole reason for coming) they didn't have ANY tortas (@$24 a serving you would think those gold bars would be in stock)

The frijol dip was good. Not great.
The papas al disco were extremely dry.

When we asked to have music turned down so we could hear the server we were met with disdain.

When my friend reminded the server about his drink order it was slammed on to the table.

I ordered the bacon burro. As far as I can tell there is zero bacon. Like not even one bacon bit.

The 'fried' tacos were served cold. Like how do you fry something and get it out cold?

The meat on every taco was dry.

Service was mediocre to terrible.
Food was terrible.
Ambiance was jarring.
If I go back it will be with friends in the industry as a case study of how something can be done so poorly.
If I had paid $20 for this entire experience I would have felt let down. At $120 this is almost criminal.

We went for an early dinner on Saturday. The place was pretty full by the time we left, so reservations are recommended. The place has a very lively casual vibe. The service was very good. They were able to accommodate my wife’s allergies with no questions and a good attitude. It was also nice not having to order everything all at one. Food was great. We had high expectations given the place’s association with Bacanora. We were totally impressed. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the ceviche, quesadillas, and the variety of tacos, and will definitely visit again.

I wasn’t impressed with my experience here. The food was overly fatty, as if it had been cooked and left sitting in grease. The quesadilla wasn’t properly cooked—the cheese inside was whole and not even melted. To make matters worse, the server barely checked on us, except to bring more drinks. Overall, I’d recommend passing on this place.

One of the best restaurants. There is not a better value for the price. The tacos will blast endorphins thru your cerebral cortex and make you dizzy with joy.

My partner and I went here last night and got there a few minutes before they opened. The hostess had us wait a few minutes and then told us they have 40 reservations and she couldn’t seat us. What restaurant doesn’t even leave the bar seating open for walk-ins at 5pm? . I saw reservations signs on only a handful of tables. We came here before as we live around the corner from there and had no issues being seated right when they opened. Super disappointed.

Food is fantastic! We ordered the platter and super yummy ice cream sandwich.

Service is excellent.

For me it was a little loud, hard to keep a conversation without yelling..

Probably better for the young hip crowd.

Excellent food great atmosphere amazing service! I make it one of my first stops whenever I’m in Phoenix. I usually get the bistek platter and it never disappoints the meats is seasoned to perfection. Oh let’s not forget about the delicious sides!

Went here with some friends and at first I was a little turned off by the “cafeteria” vibe but I humbly admit I could not have been more wrong. Everything was absolutely fantastic! We had the bistec ranchero platter, tortillas with butter, frijol dip and elote and I would 10/10 recommend ALL of them. The margaritas and service were also top notch. If you can get into the sister restaurant Bacanora this is the next best option. We will definitely be back.

I loved this very casual taqueria/huaracharia. It is bright and white and noisy. The staff, however, is enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I hate sweet cocktails, and the waiter really thought I would like the De La Tierra. He was correct. It is mushroom fat washed bacanora, rucolino amaro, an herb infused amaro, and lemon oil. Sounds weird, right? But it is really a riff on a negroni and very good.

The group shared the jicama salad, which had a bit of a slow heat and contained cucumber and tomato. I liked it a lot. Between us, we had a carne asada torta - which is huge and comes with their very delicious crispy papas (potatoes), and we also ordered three tacos. My least favorite was the chicharron taco, which was boring and dry. The fish taco was really good, but the best was the Lala lengua taco - beef and tongue. It was tender and just delicious! We were too full for dessert.

I highly recommend this place for a casual dinner. The service is fantastic and the atmosphere lively.

Just be warned, they play very loud music.
