Wanted to love this place so badly it hurts to write this. Same with Carolina’s, who are the new owners, apparently. I wouldn’t go here (or Carolina’s, talk about overrated) if they were across the street from me let alone drive there. Nice people work there but i dont want to eat people. I want to eat pastries.

Huge disappointment. I drove all the way from Mesa because of the website. Apparently new owners, absolutely horrible. I was looking forward to purchasing sausages etc, nothing on the shelves nothing in the coolers. I wish them luck but I doubt they'll make it. My Packzi had no filling whatsoever.

They have amazing pączki and many other grocery items from Poland which include: Kiszone, buraczki, chocolate, deli meat...etc

The former owners are sorely missed. Not the same quality, recipes, customer service, baked goods or grocery selections that was here for 26 years before being sold to the new buyer, who owns the Carolina’s Mexican Restaurants. Don’t bother making the drive to what once WAS an extraordinary bakery. Most of it is junk and can be bought at Safeway or Fry’s. This is a travesty for those that loved authentic Polish food. This place won’t last long.

Recently I stopped in after their store was closed for awhile. I was a loyal customer especially for the rye bread, but in my opinion the rye bread was terrible, did they change the recipe, that I don't know, but something was off. They lost one loyal customer.

The kids working there are very nice, but they are not Polish. They told me that the owners retired, and the new owners are committed to keeping the quality and overall selection the same. Unfortunately, there was no inventory, little in the way of Polish meats, or candies (one chocolate bar on the shelf), no sledzie (jarred marinated herring), and a small fairly empty refrigerator. Limited pierogi, and two breads. Packi tasted like Basha's donuts. I am on the lookout for an authentic, stocked Polish bakery and store with local product and imports from Poland.

No meats at all. That's a huge lose for that store. The new owners have not done justice to its older patrons

Unfortunately, it seems to be a shell of its former self. Nothing but five-star ratings from us in the past, but this new ownership seems questionable. On our most recent visit, their selection was far less than its ever been. No meats to offer (kielbasa, etc) - literally empty. Limited pastries - some of our favorites were nowhere to be seen (kolaczkis, cannolis, etc). They no longer have cabbage rolls apparently, and had no idea what an opwatki Christmas wafer is (we've bought them there every year for Christmas in the past). We miss the sweet little Polish ladies that used to work there too.

Jana's is open again! Very excited to have my favorite European bakery open again. I had a chocolate eclair and it was amazingly made.
