This was once one of my most frequent lunch stops. Lately, when I do stop in once in a while, I cant help but notice the portions are getting smaller and smaller. I used to get the Botana Platter once a week so the changes are significant and so obvious to me. The mini chimi only had sauce inside, no meat, not one piece. The small piece of a beef tamale (looked like 1/4 of an average tamale) may as well have been just red sauce, because there was maybe two strings of shredded beef inside and It was dry and stale. Im not sure how old it was?The tequito was smothered in flavorless guacamole and also seemed to be 1/4 of an average taquito, again no meat. The mini taco was soaking wet from the diced tomatoes pretending to be beef. I understand the last few years have been hard on everyone, but I'd rather pay a few extra dollars if costs have gone up, than be treated as if I'm stupid and won't notice poorly portioned and executed food. There are too many other local places that respect their customers enough to keep up quality of their product and dont waste my hard earned money. It's an absolute shame, what's happened to this business. I'm truly disappointed.

I ordered a red menudo, and first off, it was very bland. The bowl was too small, which didn't leave much room for broth, and there was absolutely too much hominy in and hardly any meat.
My brother had the mother's breakfast, and his meal was also completely bland. The steak was not seasoned, had no flavor, and even the beans lacked flavor themselves.
My father had the red chili plate, and his complaint was the same. Most of his food was completely bland.
We also had the chips and salsa, and the salsa was not spicy at all and mostly tasted of heavy garlic.

We usually eat there with our niece and nephew every time we come to Phoenix. The food is great and they are always willing to accommodate. The service is wonderful

Second visit in a week! Love love love their food and their service is tops! Ordered a huge steak and chicken fajita for the table. Best grilled veggies and protein ever! Came with all the usual fajita fixings (guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and tortillas.) my favorite was the chicken - tender and had a delicious marinade on it. The beef was loved by others - not me. A little too tough but juicy. What made this platter so yummy was the flavor! It was salt it was the marinade and then the marriage of veggies. Just oh so good! ?? - not close to home but I will be back! PS all servers down to the bus help are prompt in their duties and pleasant.
