Horrible customer service. They charge you for chips and salsa. Employees arguing in the kitchen. Older male taking orders is extremely rude. Won't be back. Very disappointing.
I really like the hours. I had never been there before so I called ahead to see if they had dine in or take out only. I was pleased with the dine in. Very efficient ordering system. I tried the chicken tacos, rice and beans. Everything was so delicious. I like to try everything so we’re definitely coming back and my husband loved the red chili. My little boy is moving up in his taste, but he stuck to his bean and cheese burrito, taco and rice. He wanted more rice. That’s a...read full review
We came in tonight and were treated so good. They lady helping us was so sweet, caring and treated us like family nit just a customer. Our daughter is special needs and she was so nice to her. When our food came out (to go) she made sure everything was made correctly and we had everything we needed and ordered. I am a big fan of Manuel's. Well I have to say this place put them to shame. Both by the amazing food and outstanding customer service. Everything was so good. We definitely...read full review

The Original La Canasta Mexican Food offers a wide variety of South of the Border-style meals at reasonable prices. Customers praise the tasty offerings, including the Spaniard, a Spanish-style egg omelet with fresh green chili strips, cheese, and Ranchero Sauce, as well as the generously portioned tamales. The restaurant is known for its outstanding customer service and is considered one of the best Mexican dining experiences in the area.
The atmosphere is great, with a strong Hispanic ambiance that makes customers feel welcomed. The staff is helpful, and many customers enjoy the chips and salsa, which are highlights of their visits. However, some have noted that the service can be slow, sometimes requiring take-out instead of dine-in. Recently, the restaurant has shifted to a take-out only operation, which has changed the overall experience and atmosphere for diners.
Customers also mention that the food is highly praised, with some calling it the best in Phoenix. However, there have been concerns about the cost of extras like chili and sauces, which are now charged separately, and about smaller portions of chips compared to previous visits. Despite these issues, many still consider La Canasta a favorite spot for delicious food, especially the tamales and the Green Burrito Enchilada Style with Red Sauce.
