I have been purchasing product for my small buisness for close to 3years from this place. I have never had any major complaint, there has been times where I havent liked certain brands of shrimp that they have provided me with however I have never complaint about that, I simply request a different brand on my next trip, no biggie. There has also been times where they give me the incorrect order but again I didnt complaint. I would just go right back to exchange the wrong order for the correct one, telling myself, "these things happpen, no big deal". On my most recent purchase, i was given 2 cases of, what i can only describe as, ROTTEN SHRIMP. Unfortantly I did not detect that untill i was ready to use the shrimp 4 days after I purchased it. During those 4 days, the product was safely stored in a walk in freezer as I have done for the last 3 years. My staff and I prepare the product the same day that we need it. On the day that we were about to open (foodtruck), we deforsted 2 cases of shrimp to get it ready for our sales day. At that point we noticed an extremely strong smell coming for shrimp. Only hours away from opening, I called the office to explain the situation. Not only did they refuse to take the shrimp back but went as far as to insinuate that my staff and I somehow mishandled the shrimp. I was not trying to get a refund I was only hoping that after being a loyal customer for 3 year, purchasing weekly batches, that they would attempt to make it right. They didnt. They said, "nothing we can do". I understand the shrimp was already defrosted however there is absoultly no way to tell of something is rotten while frozen. I would have settled for anything at that point however there accusations made me feel as if I was attempting to somehow steel or get something for free. Again, i had never complaint with them, owed them anything, or requested any special treatment of any kind. I was NOT going to put my customer and my buisness at risk by selling BAD ROTTEN shrimp. At the end, i was forced to toss 40lbs of shrimp, loose the investment but more importantly it impacted my sales day and i let my customer down. I will never go back again becuase of how they made me feel, i understand that given the size of there buisness and how small my buisness is in comparesion, loosing my buiesness will bot impact them whatsoever. But BEWARE! They acted in a unethical manner and washed there hands eventhiugh they sold me ROTTEN SHRIMP.
