This is our favourite Chinese spot. The soup gyozas are unbeatable, and a must-try. Highly recommend.

Second time I’ve been to this place, and I’m already craving to go back. We ordered the Veggie Gyoza, Spicy Udon Mein and HK Typhoon Style Claypot. These dishes were cooked and flavored flawlessly. I find that many restaurants don’t cook tofu well but Mifan has the best tofu I’ve ever had. I also enjoy the chill atmosphere, staff was nice and their food is very affordable. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Phoenix!

We were so pleasantly surprised when trying something new out at this restaurant- the clay pot chicken dish was exciting and sizzly, the bao was tasty, and would highly recommend the rice cake veggie and tofu dish. Highly recommend!!!

Johnny Chu is a great chef. It took me several visits to find a personal favorite, the Bo Zai Fan. Others have described it accurately so I won't duplicate their efforts. I also enjoy the Crispy Pork Gyoza. If you don't like what you received, please give feedback and be willing to try something different.

I can't rate the food because overall this place was not welcoming to us (we happen to be a minority couple). Immediately told we would have to wait 20-30 minutes for a 2 top when one was empty and just needed to be cleaned. Keep in mind no one else was waiting to get a table. A full patio happened to also be available for seating. Waiter took our name down on an empty list. And we decided to leave feeling extremely uncomfortable as we are not confrontational people. We drove by and saw a yt couple who had come in after us sitting down to have dinner in those same exact seats. 30 minutes later and no call was received.

We happen to come across Mifan while driving by one night and added it to the list. We went early and did not have a reservation, but I suggest making a reservation if you are going later. Greater by Jimi who ended up being our server. The other waiter working was friendly as well as he brought some of our dishes to our table. They were really attentive to guests and did an amazing job.I started with the Miss Saigon cocktail. It’s shaken and poured table side into a chilled glass. The bright flavors were perfect, the only thing that could have brought it to the next level would have been some garnish in the glass - but that said it was only $13 when other places are more and sometimes not as good.Started with the Crispy Tofu and the Hon Bao. The Crispy Tofu was amazing, prob one of the best I’ve had. Flavorful, crunchy yet still soft on the inside. The sauce was really good too - not the typical peanut sauce and it’s made in house as these flavors aren’t something from a bottle. The Hon Bao came in a steamy, cloud like bun. The shrimp was crispy fried and tender. It had good flavor where the sauce was on top, but felt like it needed some salt as it just didn’t explode in flavor.Next up was the Bo Zai Fan and HK Typhoon Style. The Bo Zai Fan takes a bit longer to cook that we were told when ordering. Trust me it’s worth the wait! Flavorful Sausage and vegetables perfectly cooked with rice that developed the perfectly browned, crunchy layer against the clay pot. I’d say this was a must have. The HK Typhoon had a deeply flavored sauce that mixed well with the Thai shallots, onion, ginger and Sichuan peppercorns. You got a lot of tender chicken, tender broccoli and steamed rice - which was slightly overcooked this night.Mifan is a great place if you are looking for some really good Asian food in Phoenix. The restaurant is clean in a modern-hip environment decorated with local art and some beautiful cooking vessels. Service was great, thanks Jimi. We will be back to try the other mouth watering items on menu.

The atmosphere was amazing! We found a hair in our food when we asked for another round of soup gyoza and another order of rice. The hair was sticking out in the rice and my friend ate the gyoza and found the hair in her mouth. The service was not the best. The waiter seemed very irritated when we would ask him simple questions and kept forgetting to bring us our second rounds of food. Don’t waste your time here.

This is an interesting Asian fusion restaurant on the ground floor of Muse Apartments. It's located next to Forno 301 and can be a bit difficult to see from the street. Parking is primarily available through Muse's parking lot. There are a few outdoor uncovered parking spots available for retail customers (which can make things tricky if there are a lot of people trying to get to Forno as well), and you have to validate your parking by scanning a QR code near the front of the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is upscale and modern, and service was very attentive. I was seated pretty quickly on a weekday evening. I got the sweet basil claypot as well as the spinach bao. The claypot was tasty and flavorful, though I do wish the portion size was slightly bigger. The spinach bao was disappointing, as it seemed to be frozen bao you could get from the supermarket that was just fried. Overall, I feel like the quality of the food does not match the price. If you have a craving for Asian food, this is a decent spot, but I personally prefer other places in Midtown/Uptown over Mifan.

Interesting concept: Asian fusion centred around claypot dishes, along with soups and appetizers, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.I was hungry, so I started with the hot & sour soup with tofu ($10), and got the Mala Spices claypot ($15) for my main. The soup came out after about 20 minutes. It was quite sour, moderately sweet, was not like any authentic hot & soup I've had, but was tasty enough. I wish it had more substance, as the veggies and tofu were pretty sparse. 3/5The claypot came shortly after with a side of steamed broccoli and steamed rice. The claypot included deep fried tofu, onions, carrot, and celery, and was smothered in a sweet, savoury sauce that was slightly too sweet for me but otherwise tasty. 3/5Service was friendly but slow. The restaurant itself is very comfortable, feeling slightly upscale despite the moderate prices. Decent spot.

Lovely experience! The fried tofu app was delicious as was the spinach bao. My clay pot with tofu and mala spices was wonderful. Service was good. My friend's drink was too spicy so they remade it for her. The only hiccup was that my friend offered shrimp and got chicken. Great Central Phoenix restaurant and the location is super convenient for seeing a show at Playhouse on the Park.

Johnny is a diamond in the rough! Everything he touches and creates is always the most palate pleasing ever. Soup Gyoza……to die for. Hot & Sour Soup……literally Heaven.
