Absolutely loved it. ?
Such amazing kind staff and owner.
Will definitely go back when I'm in az.
Highly recommend.
Even attentive to my pork allergy (covid ruined a lot of things. Can't eat pork.) And they were so kind about the bao for my mom that's 80.
Can't wait to bring my husband here when I bring him from Italy.

Food was super solid, it is hard to find a steady dim sum like spot in the valley. Pricing was very reasonable as well. But please for the love of dumplings hire more support staff! At 7pm the entire restaurant was a one man show. I'm talking server/host/food runner/busser/bartender - one guy! Nothing against him at all that's a big responsibility, but it's distracting and made it hard to focus on enjoying our meal. The same tables were dirty throughout our whole dining experience. Our table was sticky but I didn't want to bother him because I could see he had a lot going on. I understand the summer in AZ is slow but for the success of the business I would consider that small extra labor cost a necessity. I would come back for takeout if the staffing is the same.

Wish I had better pictures for you guys. The claypot rice bowl and bao buns were too good. I couldn't get a pic before eating it.
Very tasty, filling, and feels fairly healthy.

This is a really nice restaurant. I've gone to every one of Johnny's restaurants. This is one that is close to his heart which makes the dishes he personally makes in his kitchen that much more special. My favorite appetizer is the steamed gyoza. But I really can't tell you which of the three hot pots I like the most. Each has its own unique flavor. A combination of citrus and sauce. A combination of fresh and cooked vegetables both sweet and sour. An explosion of flavors. Enjoy!

This is one of those hole in the wall hideaways that has the best Asian food you’ve ever had. Atmosphere is cozy. The owner and bartender are super friendly. This place would have people lined up out the door if more people knew about it. I would highly recommend it. There’s also some great art on the wall created by the bartender’s dad. I’m gonna take a piece home with me to Dallas.

Undiscovered…(so far). Located in the vibrant mid-town neighborhood of Phoenix (McDowell and Central), Mifan Claypot Kitchen brings the rich tradition of claypot cooking to the forefront, showcasing flavors from Southeast Asia, particularly Guangzhou, China, Malaysia, and Singapore. Led by Chef Johnny Chu, this hidden gem offers an array of health-conscious dishes cooked in claypots, allowing for the circulation of steam and the retention of moisture without excess oil or fat. Despite its undiscovered status, Mifan Claypot Kitchen shines with dishes like the Spicy Udon Mein, featuring Japanese udon noodles, crisp vegetables, and a tantalizing Mala garlic sauce. With its industrial-chic ambiance and flavorful offerings, Mifan Claypot Kitchen is a culinary gem waiting to be explored in the heart of Phoenix's dining scene. I will be going back.
