Mixela is such an amazing experience. Time slows down, drinks are delicious, food is made with love and skill, service is friendly and attentive. It is my oasis and I love my nights on the patio or at the bar with the Mixela crew. My favorite restaurant in the Phoenix metro by a mile.

A foodie heaven !!! Came to this little neighborhood gem to meet some childhood friends and was blown away . The yummiest culinary creations like pulled pork arepas and chile empanadas.. not to mention , they also have sushi - the freshest , highest quality around . Tapas style but each dish is very satisfying. Great place for friends or even a casual date sitting at the bar sipping wine . If you love sangria , the white wine version is superb . Staff and owners very warm and welcoming . Highly recommend !

This restaurant is the newest hidden gem in Phoenix. One of the owners, Valentina, make you feel so welcome as soon as you get there. The food was excellent! It is tapas style so meant to share. Ulysses, our server, was great! Very attentive and helped us select dishes to our taste preference. We had the bruschetta, yellow tail sushi, Chinese five spice chicken skewers, empanadas, meatballs, lamb parmentier, tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake. It was all so delicious! My favorite was probably the chicken skewers. The wine list is also excellent. They had a lot of unique choices. You can tell that they really know great wine! I will definitely be back!

Going to try and be as fair as possible with this place. The folks at the bar were nice. Good wine selection. Good cheeses. Good atmosphere. But I was turned off at the first dish. Now, tapas are small by nature. And tapas restaurants aren’t usually the cheapest places to eat at. I acknowledge that. Our first dish was the focaccia with a sundried tomato spread and small ramekin of olives. It was two very thin slices of focaccia. I can’t convey how humorous this was. I wish I’d gotten a photo. For $9, it was borderline insulting. The next plate was a cheese platter. The cheese was good and i liked some of the candied beets. But at $16, again, it was anemic, even by tapa standards. At this point, I wasn’t going to spend on Las Vegas prices. And if you charge those prices, I’m going to judge you at that level. Unfortunately, despite the good wine and nice people, it’s just not worth the cost. I hope they re-evaluate the value proposition and it might be worth a repeat visit. If this is the standard they follow, there are better options.

Excellent tapas and cozy atmosphere at this chef-owned restaurant - almost feels like it was plucked right out of a little town in Europe!
Every dish we tried tonight had balanced flavors, from the lamb parmentier to the green chile beef empanadas and Chinese five space chicken skewers. Lamb parmentier was unique and had great flavor!
**MUST ORDER** The highlight of the meal was the sushi. I’m always highly skeptical about getting sushi at a restaurant that doesn’t exclusively serve Japanese food, but WOW this chef knows what he’s doing. Yellowtail Aburi, Rainbow Maki, Salmon Avocado - ORDER THEM ALL AND THANK ME LATER. All the fried elements were perfect and the seasonings/textures were spot on. No joke, freshest fish in a roll I’ve ever had. (Tip: Eat all as served with no soy sauce)
For dessert we got the chocolate cake with black sesame and the honey nougat glacé. Both were delicious, but my friends and I felt that the honey nougat glace hit it out of the park. It was nutty, smoky, and complex. I would eat this dessert literally everyday if I could.
Go visit before this place blows up!! ❤️❤️
