The best fried fish in the Phoenix area, but they seem to be gone. I hope they show up again sometime.
fried catfish and sweet potato pie.
Best Catfish and peach cobbler ever I tasted in Phoenix!
Brought my family here today for lunch. We tasted love and years of experience in the food. After we demolished our fish flatters, I was stuffed. But I couldn’t walk out of there without trying the burger. Excellent burger too! We found our new go to fish fry! The employees and ownership are the icing on the cake. Loved the experience all the way around 10/10!
The food is awesome. Papa Joe is so down to earth. Everyone behind the counter.
Best fried fish in phoenix. I always get the catfish but tried the snapper today and is very flavorful. Food is always fresh and ready in a timely manner. Joe is a great guy as well very friendly. Recommend to anybody that wants great food at a good price
At at Papa Joe's for the first time, and the food was delicious! The fried okra was seasoned very well, and the turkey burger was juicy and flavorful. My husband had the catfish, and my son cod and jalapeno hush puppies, which were also winners! Will definitely make it a point to return for more!!
Was recommended by another business owner to try this place. It is awesome. Had a great vibe to it and had great food. I will be visiting here again soon.

I may have already done a review but it can't hurt to reinforce what appears to be the consensus...
Not impressed. Found out about this place because I wanted fried fish and one of my co workers recommended it. Not many fried fish places around so I figured I’d give it a try. The pricing for the portions is outrageous. 2 small pieces of fish with a couple pieces of what tasted like frozen shrimp for almost $13. Coleslaw had no taste and they overcooked the hush puppies so it was difficult to bite into. I asked for lemon and got expired packets of lemon juice. Overall a disappointing visit but the best part was the fresh kool-aid they had as drink options. I was going to buy this huge peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie for dessert that was only $1 but I was too disappointed in having spent almost $25 on wack food. Save your money and fry your own fish at home with some Louisiana fish fry.
A friend recommended this location. Small, cafe-style with a soul food menu including kool-aid dispensers, collard greens and cornbread. Simply delicious fish. Fair portion sizes. Chicken nuggets on the Kid's menu left much to be desired though. Cash only.
Called in en route from California to Phoenix to place a nice sized order for a party of 30 in celebration of my Mother's 70th Birthday. They were very accommodating and the food was hot and ready fresh out the fry right when I arrived. Good customer service and great food. My mother's party was last October and my whole family still talks about how tasty the fish was. I'd definitely recommend Papa Joe's Fish N Que for anyone looking for good fish in the Phoenix area.
This place is a bit over priced. But it is worth it and few complain. The main thing is simply done to perfection timed to the second. A master chef has it perfected. Enjoy what is probably the best fried catfish you can get in your life time.
