Best Puerto Rican food I have had in Arizona. Everything I have had is amazing. Plato De Pernil, Camaron, Alcapurria, empanadas, mofongo, tostones. Flan is amazing and they have both types cheese flan is my go to. They also have all the Caribbean soda. Love this place.

The food is to die for! It’s so flavorful, fresh, and cooked with love. I love how the food tasted as if it sat down in a kitchen and food served right up from the stove.
It’s a lot of food and great for the price. I definitely recommend the pernil, empanadas, and the chicken mofongo! The rice is so tasty that I could eat that for forever! The only thing I wish is that it had a bit more meat.

We visited El Coquí and it was like stepping right into a Puerto Rican kitchen. Every dish was packed with flavor and made with love.
We started with jugo de parcha (passion fruit juice) – perfectly refreshing with just the right balance of sweet and tangy. The mofongo de carne frita and mofongo con carne de pernil were both outstanding – the plantains were perfectly mashed, garlicky, and soaking up all the savory juices from the tender meat.
The jibarito was a standout – crispy plantain “bread” hugging juicy, flavorful meat with fresh toppings, each bite better than the last. The Bori fries were pure comfort food – golden fries topped with a mountain of savory goodness.
We finished with flan de coco, and it was the perfect ending – smooth, creamy, and rich with coconut flavor.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff made us feel right at home. If you’re craving authentic Puerto Rican food in Phoenix, El Coquí is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!

I've been there 3 times. And every time I order the white rice and beans it is Always so salty.
I ordered from DoorDash and everything was delicious!!! Reminded me of a meal I had a long time ago in the Bronx!! The portions were fantastic. I had the pernil plate with a side of the kidney beans stew and the sweet bananas.. everything was absolutely delicious!! I’m so glad I have stuff for dinner and lunch tomorrow!!

Wow wow wow. This place literally made my day. I moved to phoenix a couple of months ago and I just found the best puertorrican food I’ve ate outside of Puerto Rico, EVER. I am a born and raised puertorrican who is VERY VERY judgy about flavors, textures and AUTHENTICITY. This place literally makes you feel like you are back home. The place itself, the environment, the owners, the service offered… I had the Pizza Empanadilla and wow… I can’t even put into words how the first bite felt. After that, I ordered a Mofongo de Pollo with Caldito on the side…. Literally I was about to cry. 😭 One of the owners even brought me some pieces of Carne Frita so I could taste that too. It was beyond what I could’ve imagined. This is literally the best place ever. I can’t wait to go back and visit this place. 100% recommended!!!!!!!!!!!
