The bakery has such a warm homey feel as soon as you walk through the doors! Proof will forever provide bread and pastries for my family. First off, the tables were dirty, which made sitting down uncomfortable. On top of that, I noticed flies hovering around the bread, which is completely unacceptable for a bakery claiming to be high-end. It really ruined my appetite. To make matters worse, the prices are ridiculously high for what you’re getting. I don’t mind paying more for quality, but there’s no justification for these prices given the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail.

I was really excited to try Proof Bread on Shea, but I left feeling disappointed. The croissants are incredibly small for the price, and honestly, not worth it. While I expect artisan bakeries to have higher prices, the size of their pastries doesn’t justify the cost at all. It’s hard to understand why everything is priced so high. I wanted to love this place, but it feels like you’re paying more for the brand name than the actual product. Definitely not coming back unless they adjust their prices or offer better value for money.

I’ve been searching for great bread in Phoenix/Scottsdale for a long time, today I tried the Baguette and the Country Sourdough at Proof. I must say the bread was just fantastic, fresh, the crust was perfect and I got there early enough so “the bread was warm”. Highly recommend!
We are so excited to have found this excellent bakery. We learned about it accidentally by stumbling upon the owner’s YouTube videos in which we learned how Proof started and saw the immense amount of passion and hard work that has gone into producing such special breads and pastries. The quality is exceptional, the shop was clean and inviting, staff were helpful, welcoming, and happily answered my questions. We got pastries, local eggs, and some bread. Best bread in the valley!
Dietary restrictions: Many of the products are made with wheat but the long fermentation process reduces the gluten content - this means that some people with a gluten intolerance may actually be able to tolerate consuming these products.
Kid-friendliness: A nice place to get sweet and savory pastries to enjoy with the kids. Juice and other drink options available as well.

Long time customer from the Downtown farmer's market but today was my first time at the Shea location! Loved it! The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly, the pastries were A+ (as usual) and I loved seeing their little store with the flour and additional food items. Definitely will be going back and look forward to whenever their new location opens up downtown!

Fabulous fresh breads, pastries and pizza! The ciabatta bread is worth waiting until late morning for a loaf, and the almond croissant is a fave as well! My parents regularly pick up a fruit and nut loaf or an olive loaf at the farmers market. Delish! The team at Proof are always kind and helpful. The space is clean, bright and open. Definitely go here for your bakery needs; the quality is top notch!

I have been a fan of Proof breads and pastries for years when I visited farmers markets. The gods smiled on us when they opened their most recent location in my neighborhood! They offer several types of breads, croissants, pastries and even pizza (which sells out in minutes). Do yourself a favor and try the artfully created sourdough from Proof. Unique, tasty, friendly environment, locally owned....you can't beat it! ❤️ Thank you, Proof team!
