We went to Sidewinder on a Sunday, right at 5 pm. It looked like the staff had just arrived - the counters/menus were not even cleaned from the previous night. I understand the dive bar vibe, but still there is no excuse for lack of hygiene. The ventilation system/outlets were also visibly filthy.
On the positive side, the food was great. We had the brisket and chicken sandwiches, loaded onion rings, and fries. All the favors were right on point and the prices were reasonable.
We sat inside since it was a cool afternoon, but I would recommend the outdoor sitting areas which looked very cute.

Great local spot. I live in the neighborhood, so it's an easy walk for a casual dinner. The food is what you'd expect from a diner- flavorful and mostly unhealthy. I enjoyed the loaded onion rings, elote, and potato salad. They have $3 beer specials, and I was impressed that their seasonal special was a sour. The servers and cooks are always friendly and happy to help.

Love the vibe and the reasonable drinks. Nothing fancy but that’s all I want. We live in the neighborhood. I really appreciate the chill, classic music. Old school. Beautiful. Thank you. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Place is cool. Service is trash. You get called “weird” for being on the phone talking to friends. Not much to post reviews but I’m a little baffled about this experience I had today, I guess I’ll take my weird self elsewhere, since there was a payment issue, not to be tmi, they like to hold your cards. And then next day have unexpected charges show up, to ghetto for my liking won’t return,

I was skeptical at first because this place took over Little Chef, & those are big shoes to fill! I am glad to have been here twice and know that they are maintaining the corner as a neighborhood staple. Simple, laid back place. Don’t come here looking for expensive drinks in fancy glasses! No frills here. They know what dirty means when you ask for a dirty martini.

Ambiance is great. Probably about 7 seats on the inside but the outdoor open seating is comfortable & inviting. Easily spent 2-3 hours here each time.

Haven’t tried the food yet, but the menu looks delectable. Great prices on everything as well. Cheers !!!

Parking: Parking on street in the neighborhood. Easy. Some people park in the watermill parking lot, not sure if that is permitted but doesn’t seem to cause problems.

Dive bar with intention. Great food. Drink prices are unreal - absolute handshake for the community, $5 Fernet?! $3 Bud?! … is this 1984? Amazing. Caught a night where the owner was behind the bar.
Put this place on your list.
Patio is perfect for in-season arizona.

visited a few times and wish i could leave a good review, but last time i visited the owner of the restaurant was a dick. yelled at us for things we weren’t doing and was rude about whatever he was raging about. not saying don’t go, but don’t expect a good time ;)

This place slaps!! Small shoebox sized cozy interior with a few bar seats, great spacious outdoor patio. We tried 5-6 items on the menu and all of them led to big smiles and messy hands. Sloppy Joe, frito pie, slaw dog, jalapeño cheddar sausage sando and the potato salad were the delicious menu options we ordered. The only reason I won’t be ordering them next time is because I’ll be trying the rest of the menu. DO NOT SLEEP ON THE SLOPPY JOE! You won’t be disappointed. As a bonus - they do $5 Fernet shots and have a very reasonable and well crafted cocktail menu. Don’t let the plastic cups alter your opinion of a dirty martini - it’s stellar. Will definitely be back again and again. (Shout out to the bartender for great service, guiding us through the Sidewinder culinary journey, and being awesome)

Good food and conversation. Tiny inside bar is friendly. Misters in the back patio. French fries are good.
