If you are looking for an excellent spot to enjoy ambiance and a fun night Rough Rider is great for that. Understand dont be expecting the quality of food you would get from places like Dominks and Captiol Grill. For 100ish dollars per person the small un-complex menu makes it hard to get an elegant meal. Making it hard to have the fine dinning experience you would expect for the cost of the dinner.

We were late to our reservation and the front desk girl was so helpful and accommodating, helped us get right in to celebrate a bachelorette! Our waitress was also wonderful and made the bride feel so special! Drinks were AMAZING! Thanks Rough Rider!

The atmosphere is very much like a well thought out Disney ride. It is an experience to just be present in the restaurant and the food was very good. However, my only complaint was our table. We were seated at a table for two. The walkway was very busy and at one point while eating a waiter accidentally bumped into my elbow trying to get by. I didn't like being seated in a busy walkway. It really, really took away from the experience.

I had an excellent time at the happy hour here. The oysters were really fresh and the sauces to go with them were also outstanding.
Also the drinks were delicious, I had a mystery punch and an old fashioned. The old fashioned was clearly well made, and the punch was very tasty.

Parking was difficult to find and deal with. The music was so loud you couldn't have a conversation without yelling. The speakeasy theme was more hipster than anything. The food was inconsistent. We both had the duck - one was good, the other was completely burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. Soda comes in a can and there's no refills. Service was barely okay, the server seemed annoyed. The bartenders spent most of their time standing together chatting. The prices are way too high for what you get.
First time and overall had a good experience. The food and the ambiance were amazing. The service left a bit to be desired. Don't get me wrong, our server(s) was/were very kind and attentive. But they were a bit too attentive to the point where it was intrusive to the experience. I was very much trying to enjoy my date's company and felt rushed to make decisions. Being in the industry, I also teach my team to read your tables. Hospitality is not a one size fits all. I would have been willing to spend more money had we not felt rushed. I get turning your tables but it was a slow Sunday night. In any case, I will be back as there were other items I wished to try. Hoping to be able to give a full 5 stars on my next visit.

We have been here a half dozen times or so to celebrate a special event, brings friends, have a date night and even had father daughter date, and each time we are thankful that we went. This time, we met some friends to surprise my wife for Bday drinks and appetizers. Our service is always as great as the food and drinks are but for a time or two, Heather S. has been the R.R. Representation who makes the experience so worth coming back. She gives wonderful suggestions and has such a happy vibe. She is Top Notch!
