I had a good experience even though I only purchased a few items. I was a bit confused about the rewards program. I thought that a deal on shredded cheese for 97 cents was a general deal, not one that had to be clipped on the app. A Customer Service Representative helped me apply the coupon to my purchase at the self-checkout kiosk. I think I will just use my member card instead next time to make things easier for me.

Trip on 07/30/2023 and 07/31/2023 : My experiences were underwhelming. I ran into rude customers during both visits. During the first visit, I asked customers to excuse me when trying to exit from the self checkout area and they would not move. During the second visit, I pretty much had a group of guys hurry up and rush into the checkout line I was headed for. The checkout experience was a bit weird. I asked for my items to be double bagged. I heard the cashier mumble something under his breath. The bagger ended up only double bagging some items while others such as multiple yogurts were not. I have to ride public transportation and/or walk home, which is why I made the request. I had almost enough bags to make things work after rebagging them.

This is unrelated but the pre-packaged chicken wings and tenders in the deli area are bad quality. They are often times dehydrated and/or overcooked. I understand most are marked down in price but the food should be edible. I had some BBQ chicken tenders that were so dried out and hard that I had to throw it away for fear I would break a tooth out.

I think this will be one of my last visits to this store.

Update 09/2024: The quality of the chicken has improved as well as the customer service. I do go here to shop when it is convenient for me to do so and when it is within budget.

I was hesitant about writing this review but with soaring prices I had to. I purchased 9 items and my total came to $88 and I came to Safeway thinking it might be cheaper than sprouts. It definitely is not. I also had a hard time finding organic pasture raised eggs and grass fed beef. When I got home I ate a cauliflower pizza I got and the next day I ate some eggs and opened the sourdough bread I bought from the bakery. Which I always buy from sprouts. Well this bread felt weird and definitely didn’t look or taste like sourdough. It also toasted much faster than normal bread and then ate half of a steak and broccoli that night. Next day I woke up super sick. Mostly really bad headache so I didn’t think much of it. I ate more eggs and another piece of toast. After eating the toast I just wanted to look at the ingredients because again it just looked weird. I then noticed on the “fresh bakery” bread used bioengineered food. I was shocked. So I returned the bread thinking that was what was making me sick. I ate the remainder of the steak and it’s now been two days and I’m only getting more ill. The store is clean and most people seem pleasant here which is why I don’t like writing bad reviews, but spending almost $90 for not even a few days worth of food only to get bad sick and honestly I’m really disappointed that the Safeway bakery would be using bio engineered foods in their fresh bread. I’m assuming it’s not freshly made in the bakery. If you’re wondering Sprouts is actually much cheaper and I have never gotten sick from their food.

I love Safeway store branded ice cream and pizza. This store however, is constantly out of stock on multiple popular items and can be a waste of time when you then have to go to another store anyway. Tonight I left with nothing and am heading to Walgreens. This happens often and on the same items. Tonight it was Arizona Iced Tea w/lemon. Out of stock on about 50% of my visits

Purchased a ground beef from the store today to then find out they gave me old bad meat. I callled customer service and the guy who answered were rude and didnt wanna help. I don't know why people work in customer service if they hate their lives like that. No manners and respect not whatsover. And the guys on the self check out, they never smile and always rude.

Useless, I called asking to see if a product was in stock the guy who answered the phone seemed uninterested to help and I had to ASK him check their inventory on the computer, he said “I walked down the aisle and don’t see any”

Came to this location to shop for my wife’s Mother’s Day gift.. chocolate covered strawberries, flowers, a cake and a card.. was having a great experience.. until, a customer wanted some balloons aired up and the worker by floral told her no! She said I’m busy I don’t have time!! It’s busy I can’t I’m doing other things..
Who says that? Who comes first? Your customers and keeping those customers satisfied should be your main priority. If you’re not able to tend to them and be apologetic and find another available associate then you shouldn’t be working with customers. Go sit in back and do the books.. she was very rude.. I get it, Mother’s Day busy busy no excuse. I suggest next time help or get someone else to help.. bad customer service.. I had a good shopping experience but poor customer she just walked off upset ?‍♂️..
