Fresh fish makes all the difference in a sushi style restaurant. Here it is fresh and beautifully presented. We tried a couple of happy hour offerings- tuna tataki tacos, a sweet and spicy roll, and a 7 piece chef's choice nigiri. We also tried the yellowtale tuna. The food was paced nicely and flavor combinations were imaginative. The sweet and spicy roll combined crab and spicy tuna. The tacos were delightfully crunchy, spicy and savory. I have waited a long time to try this place and will not wait that long to go back.

My first time to this amazing space and will definitely be back. The sushi was TOP NOTCH and some of the best I've ever had. Our server was incredible as well as the manager. So hospitable and gracious. The space is comfortable and intimate. Celebrated an anniversary here and it was the perfect spot! Great location. Love the Melrose which is beginning to see several great restaurants located in that area.

Everything on the menu from top to bottom was stellar. Great and friendly service, fresh and delicious food. I tried all 3 of the mocktails; each one was lovely. Get the oil cake at the end!

Celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary and it was exceptional! Food is always delicious and beautifully presented. Nice casual environment. Great service. The ube cake for dessert - I'll go back just for that! The cocktails and wine all excellent. Loved it!

Tried 2 options from the restaurant week menu. The tuna tasting was amazing, all the sushi was quite good. Sauce game was on point

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Music was a little too loud for the small indoor space. Overall it was a 5-star experience.

The quality of the food and drinks was excellent. We reversed a sit at the bar because we always enjoy talking to bar tender’s and get recommendations specifically when it’s a new restaurant, but in this occasion the bar tender seems to be bother and was not very friendly, even though there was only 4 of us sitting at the bar, he never smiled or asked if we enjoyed anything we ordered, and for the price you pay for this place I was a bit disappointed for the service, a small gesture of attention doesn’t take too much time and we’ll keep the customers happy, other than the food was delicious and drinks were great.

Amazing amazing place with a great service and amazing Negroni. The sushi rolls are special and it was totally worth the price

Little pricey but food drinks and service were all excellent.

The food and service was absolutely amazing. We are from Yuma and never get to downtown Phoenix. Sandfish is the new reason we will make it.

Went here for AZ restaurant week. The sushi was great and whiskey menu had lots
Of options, but our server left much to be desired. She never smiled or really engaged our table, while servers were the opposite, smiling, making suggestions & welcoming to their tables. Having poor service always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth because it’s all about the experience. I can get sushi a lot of places. It’s the service that makes you go back. We sat inside and the decor is nice , but it is quite loud. On the fence about returning.

Second time here. First time was incredible, we couldn't wait to come back. This time, not so much. We initially at a table, but there was a group next to us that were SO loud, we moved to the bar. The bartender is really what made this experience lackluster. He was either having the worst day of his life. Hates his job, or maybe both. I don't ever want to feel like I'm an inconvenience at a restaurant and that exactly how we felt. Monotone responses, barely any attention, said 2 words when we engaged with him. Maybe that's his “vibe” but we weren't feeling it. If I'm spending money on good food I want to at least be treated like a human. Food is great, just don't sit at the bar. Unfortunately, he waits on some tables too...Until there's a different bartender, I'll be avoiding this place.

Everything I ordered was fantastic, and I ordered many different things. I'd go so far as to say it's some of the best sushi I've had. Nigiri, maki, sashimi all of the highest quality. The beef gyoza, perfectly prepared. The yellowtail crudo was the standout here.

The green goddess vegan roll was better than expected, lots of flavors competing for your attention.

Make sure you try the pickled wasabi, it mellows the heat and adds a touch of salty sweetness (hard to describe, just try it, you won't regret it).

The service is excellent and attentive, but not intrusive.

Comfortable and clean, the inside dining area is nicely arranged in a soothing way. I didn't visit the covered patio dining area.

I ate too much.

Highly, highly recommended!

The food was outstanding, and our drinks were delicious, the bartender perfectly designing a unique drink based on our whiskey choice. Our waitress was friendly and offered wonderful suggestions. Highly recommend for a special night out
