If you love traditional Americanized Chinese Food, fresh, hot and delicious, you’ve found the place. Entree are large, fried rice is the best you’ll ever have, sauces do not all taste the same, meat melts in your mouth. Service is fast and friendly. Help keep this iconic Phoenix restaurant in business, visit today and often!
Been my favorite place for many years. Food is always great; lunch, dinner, takeout, or eating there. Not the fanciest place, but acceptable. Service is good and staff is always friendly. Just expect great Chinese food \u0026 you'll be satisfied.
I had the snow peas and beef it was superior and I had apork egg roll and the meal was with white rice excellent I would like to know the appetizer selections I did not see them.
~$20/plate is high for the area. So definitely get the family meal to economize. You can tell at one time this restaurant was really nice, but that was a long time ago. The neighborhood makes it hard to want to go there, but the food tastes good. Ive been there about 5 times and used to order out for working lunches often.I appreciate they are open on the holidays so I don't mind the extra cost, but it's definitely not a good place to take a date.
Vegetarian options: I normally get the Buddha delight. It's good.
Parking: Plenty of uncovered unassigned parking - the lot is connected to another area. It has a security guard. The neighborhood has actually become worse lately -- if you know what it was like 5 years ago you wouldn't have thought that possible. There are plenty of great people there, but the panhandling is out of control... Really makes things feel desperate. The neighborhood definitely has a negative tone.
They went from great, to alright, to terrible. I have been their customer for over 25 years, I will no longer be ordering from here. They skimp out on sauce, which the dry chicken needs. They skimp on veggies. Prices went up and quality went down. Time to find another place.
Sometimes you shouldn't overlook a restaurant and this place fits that saying. I can for the lunch special and left full and satisfied. It is a classic 90's Chinese food restaurant, complete with the sweet and sour sauce and the dipping chips. The soap was good and warm, The salad was a plain iceberg salad but the peanut sauce was tasty. The meal came with a crabpuff, a fried shrimp and plenty of rice and chicken. Again this isn't fine dining the restaurant is old and beatup but I'm old and beat up and I like tasty fast food that's plentiful. The service was a little slow when I got there to be seated but by the time they saw me I was waited on multiple times and never felt ignored. Go here and eat some American Chinese it hits the spot
Very nice people, nice atmosphere, The food was delicious, I have gone to Shangri - La for 6-8 years, I would recommend it to anyone, I had Sesame Chicken, my Sister had Beef and Broccoli, my Brother in law had Mongolian Beef, ,???? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2 thumbs up, & 5 stars
Late Aug 22' I got real sick my son picked up a lg hot and sour soup and it was packed with goodness. 3 days later I go to get the same lg container, a little over $10 myself and basically it was nothing but broth. Very disappointed, I took it back. Today I took a friend out for lunch. We ordered off the lunch menu not the special and some tea. The prices here went up about 30% over the last months and now there is even upcharges to many options besides. Part that really TICKED me off is my bill of slightly over $31, I paid at the table, and they took it upon themselves to keep the change! They never brought back any change to me. I had to go up to the counter and ask for it back as I was being ignored after paying!!! HEY COMMON! Lunch dont get a $9 tip okay and after purposely being ignored I wasnt even feeling the $6 I did leave. I felt this was very rude. Prices are up , inconsistent orders and now feeling entitled as well. Its good but Mr Wongs on 19 ave is near just as good, prices are very fair for what you get and they dont have an automatic entitlement to $9 + TIPS!
great food, and service. Sad to see this place closing their doors. their closing down end of September due to poor business last couple years.
Its the best! Hot and Sour soup, hand made egg rolls, Spicy Tangy Beef everything is super!

The food is still great quality wise don’t get me wrong. But opening a Menu to see stickers put over every price and the cheapest menu item for 1 single entree was 16.99 now…and the shrimp items were literally 24.99 for 1 serving. Nobody’s going to pay that much it will just shut the business down twice as fast. It Is a sign they won’t be open long. We were there and only one other couple was dining. As soon as they say down the first thing we heard was then gasping at the high prices.
Food was good, but customer service took away from experience. You better finish by 8:45 because by 8:50 they will be kicking you out.
This used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant in Phoenix but not any more. The food and service is very good as always but in the last 3 weeks they have really raised their prices. Three weeks ago Wor Wonton Soup for 2-3 was $7.50, tonight it was $9.75. Three weeks ago Garlic Chicken was $12.95, tonight it was $16.95. This is a 30% increase! The food is very good as well as the service but not 30% on top of their already competitive prices. I wish them the best but we are now looking for resonably priced Chinese food.
Always amazing food! One of the best hot and sour soups :-)
I have been coming here since the late 1990s. They have amazing food here. Great atmosphere. Great Chinese music. The decor is nice and inviting. The servers are friendly. They like having conversations with you.I have quite a few dishes I eat here ... they are known for their fried rice, eggrolls, and soup ( egg drop and sizzling rice soup). Some of my favorite dishes are sizzling rice shrimp, moo goo gai pan, beef and broccoli, sesame chicken, Cantonese style noodles, garlic shredded pork, egg fu young, and mu shu dishes.I highly recommend their lunch combinations because you get to try the main dish of your choice, eggroll, wonton, fried rice or steamed rice and cup of soup (egg drop or hot and sour). Served until 4pm daily.
