Despite being a landlocked desert, there‘s no shortage of sushi restaurants around the valley. Plenty of them even have pretty good ratings, like 4.5 stars and above, but I don’t think a single one of them holds a candle to Sushj Friend.
It’s a bit more pricey than your average sushi spot, but only marginally so, and the difference in quality is night and day. I put off going here for genuinely years just because I expected it not to live up to the hype, and by doing so, I’ve missed out on years I could’ve spent eating coastal-city-quality sushi for a reasonable price. I have no clue what this place is doing differently that makes it so high-quality yet affordable, but I hope they never stop!

We’ve been coming here for about a year now and every time has been great, but tonight was so exceptional that I would’ve felt guilty had I not written a review. We messed up on our order and came in with our 2 toddlers, and they totally took care of us far above and beyond anything they needed to do. As far as food goes, their Unagi Rice Bowl is the best in town for sure. The only problem is that I can barely get any before my son finishes it all. Additionally, the baked salmon bowl and sushi is really spectacular as well. Their yellowtail is so delicious, it’s almost creamy. The ambience is humble and casual and we love this place as a dine in (even with crazy toddlers), and as a take out. And the service goes without saying, you really are treated like family here. I highly recommend Sushi Friend.

There is a whole lot of conformity bias going on with these reviews. The parking lot has 5 or 6 spots. The vibe is strange. No music or any semblance of joy or even happiness for that matter. Yes, the food is fine, but not remarkable. If you like your rice slightly sweet, then you will be happy. The real issue is the cost. Look at the menu and see for yourself.

I went with my daughter. She told me that she had heard your sushi was very good. We ordered four Rolls they were amazing you could taste the freshness of the fish and your atmosphere is so comfortable and the service was great. I told my daughter we can go eat there anytime she wants truly delicious.
