Absolutely amazing restaurant! This has become my husband and I’s new favorite restaurant. We came here for the first time today to celebrate my birthday and man are we glad we did. Everything was executed perfectly. From the atmosphere, to the wait staff and of course the food. We started with the mozzarella (to die for) and sashimi which was also spectacular. For the mains, we both had the filet mignon with fries and creamed spinach along with wine. The food was seasoned perfectly. I usually have to ask for salt at restaurants but not here. Most restaurants honestly have terrible fries; but these were the best fries I have ever had. Along with the best steak and creamed spinach. Our waiter was so kind and ended up giving us a complimentary appetizer of sashimi and he also gave me a free cheesecake for my birthday. We also had the pleasure of meeting chef and owner of the restaurant Mark who is also the host of the show Check Please. I have watched that show for years and he was kind enough to take a photo with us. Mark was very kind and personable. You can’t go wrong with anything you order here. We will definitely be coming back soon.

We had a truly wonderful experience at Tarbell’s. From the moment we walked in, the service stood out—attentive, warm, and professional without being overbearing. The staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout the evening.

As for the food, most of the dishes were exceptional. The caviar was perfectly executed—clean, balanced, and indulgent without being overdone. The crudo was a highlight, with a delicate, fresh flavor that showed off the quality of the ingredients. We also tried the asparagus gazpacho, which was both vibrant and refreshing, offering a great seasonal touch that really worked.

The only drawback was the gnocchi. While the texture was nice, the dish was overwhelmingly salty, which threw off the balance and made it difficult to enjoy. It was the only miss of the evening, but worth noting.

That said, everything else more than made up for it. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, the pacing of the meal was just right, and the overall experience left us eager to return. Tarbell’s clearly knows how to create a memorable dining experience, and we’re looking forward to trying more of the menu on our next visit.

Went to the award winning, Tarbell's in the Phoenix Biltmore district, for the first time. Uniquely there's the James Beard nominated Chef Mark Tarbell's restaurant, next door to the Tarbell Tavern, and a wine store adjacent in the same shopping plaza just off 32nd street and Camelback. We ate at the classic restaurant, and really enjoyed their food. I started with Mikey's Manhattan, and my friend had the Paloma, both very exquisite cocktails. We shared the Beet Salad, and the Cesar salads, then moved onto their Beef Carparccio. Everything was light, fresh and delicious. The atmosphere inside was bright, contemporary and inviting. For our main course I had the pan seared chicken with mashers, and my friend, the Halibut. Both were cooked to perfection! After paying, we went next door to the Tavern for a nightcap. It was much more intimate of a space that opened into the wine store. There was a full dining table having a private gathering, in the wine store section and a few Happy Hour groups at the bar. Prices on the menu were much cheaper than we just paid, but a simple American fare menu. We will definitely come back! Delicious and a fun evening trying Tarbell's!

We heard of this place from a friend and tried it for the first time on Mother’s Day! We had the most amazing experience!

The service was some of the best we’ve ever had and we frequent fine dining restaurants regularly. The wine list was extensive for enthusiasts. The pricing was reasonable and food was elevated but comforting.

Favion, our wonderful server went above and beyond to personalize this experience for us! He anticipated our needs with every chance! We will definitely be frequenting here often!!

Mark Tarbell’s attention to so many details in his restaurant offers a guest an experience that is exceptional. Beyond the usual interior, pleasant space, there is an outdoor area for the weather that we have at this time of the year - before the onset of high heat. Besides the pleasant atmosphere, each aspect of food and service hits the right note. Wines are clearly carefully chosen. A Chardonnay tastes of chardonnay but with more sophistication than the usual one. A pinot noir tastes American but has the layered flavors of a French one. A dish like salmon is common but it becomes uncommon and distinctive in the hands of the chef and staff in the kitchen. With delicious Asian-style, the softer textures of tomatoes and Jasmine rice strike the right balance with crunchy garbanzos and cucumbers and peas. And these are the accompaniments of a well-prepared piece of salmon. Yet, this isn’t an Asian dish. It is a special dish. It just benefits from someone who understands food textures. The steaks are always marvelous along with their richly flavored and concentrated but light sauces. And almost no restaurant outside France prepares frites like Tarbell’s. This is a wonderful restaurant.
