Nice atmosphere, service was good, not exceeding expectations. Our party of 14 appreciated the complimentary salad app while we waited for all the entrees to be prepared. I did not find my entree to be a good value for the quality and portion size. The sea bass was good but I have had better back home and for larger than a postage stamp size portion. We did not have dessert. Overall, I would probably not return if in the area again.

First time. Last time. Traditional American?restaurant offering expense account steak (choices), or a fish, a pasta, or pizza. Add a salad, a glass of wine, a dessert (cheesecake, cannoli, bread pudding, many others) and a tip. Certainly well above $100 per person. Valet parking. Busy on Monday. Guess the formula works.

I went here for valentines day with very high expectations. I don't normally eat at nicer/fancy restaurants and wanted to give it a go on Valentines. There is not really a way to describe it other than disappointing. I got the Mac and Cheese to share and it was very disappointing, overcooked pasta, not creamy, not cheesy, and was in a pool of oil. For the entree I got the grilled vegetarian plate and it was also very disappointing. The food was cooked to mush and was also not hot. It came on a hot plate from being under the lamp, but the food itself was room-temp at best.
I would have said something to our server about the food, but I think we saw him 4 times in the 2 hours we were there. From the time we ordered our food, it took 20-30 minutes, which is standard and acceptable, but the issue is that our server didn't bring our food and did not check at our table for over 30 minutes after the food was brought. The food runner/busser asked if I wanted a box for my food and I told her my complaints, she was great and went to my server, who finally came to us. So from the time we ordered to the time of the complaint to a runner, our server did not come to us for about an hour, which I believe is pretty unacceptable. He was very apologetic and removed the bad food from my ticket and gave us a free cheesecake, which was amazing. I still left a $20 tip on a $100 bill and he had a cold tone when he saw it, as if I should have given more, since he removed the bad food and gave a dessert.
Overall the food quality was nothing special, the price was high for basics done poorly, the service was awful, the atmosphere was good and the runners/bussers were awesome.
Vegetarian options: They had vegetarian options, but they were all bad (from my experience)

Excellent service. Food was high quality overall with two issues. Chickpea appetizer was a bit odd tasting and was quite dry. Salmon was cooked perfectly, but the glaze was too sweet.

Atmosphere is fine and food well prepared, but they are all too salty for our taste. The portions are nice.
Would recommend getting drinks with your meal.

BEWARE - FOOD POISONING
I dined at this restaurant over the weekend and got food poisoning from the ground beef meat bolognese at Tarbell's. I was feeling unreasonably full after the meal later at night time and woke up the following AM to unrelenting food poisoning which lasted nearly 2 full days. I called the establishment to notify them of the issue and Elyssa the manager apologized and said they could "take care of us next time if we came back". I did not ask for any refund or apology- I simply called to notify the establishment of bad meat in their dish. To have a manager not offer a refund of the meal however (2 entrees) let alone for the dish by itself is so unprofessional and unacceptable. I lost my entire Sunday weekend and a full day of work on Monday due to the uncleanliness/food-borne illness caused by this establishment and the solution of management was for me to come back to a restaurant that just had me ill for 2 days. Unprofessional, and I would not recommend this for dinner to anyone. It is no doubt we will not be returning "to try it again" and we do not commend staff on how they handled this. Go elsewhere to pay more for food that will not make you ill.

Terrible experience. Very rude hostess to greet us and the staff avoided us as soon as they realized we weren’t ordering their wine. Very tight seating and they kept adjusting the lighting every couple minutes. The menu and food was extremely bland and unoriginal. $42 for spaghetti with one meatball! Mac and cheese noodles overcooked and flavorless. The au gratin potatoes were the biggest disappointment - tasteless, dry square-cut potatoes with no salt. And I’m sorry, but $14 for a side of French fries?? Nothing special on them!
If you’re hoping for a high class dining experience, expect disappointment here. If they want to charge big bucks for food, they need to be more creative with what they offer.

I ordered the lemon pizza pie and it was covered in lemon seeds!! You would expect that the chefs would remove all the seeds before covering and cooking them in cheese? Who wants a pizza covered in bitter and gross lemon seeds?
Not to mention every dish we had was flavorless, seemed to lack even salt and pepper. We ordered the Mac n cheese, the meatball, and a couple of other dishes that seriously disappointed every single person at the table.
Then our server did not check on us even once after we got our food. Our server then was seen offering other tables explanations of the seasonal deserts, but only came and gave us the bill so it was obvious he was trying to get rid of us as soon as possible. Won’t be coming back again to eat overpriced, flavorless food. Yuck.

Very pricy. Food was high quality, but can't say it justifies the very high prices.

I got the 75 dollars grassfed wagyu filet mignon which comes out with fries and spinach. The creamy spinach is not very good and ruins the steak. A steak that's supposed to be wagyu is subpar and it's very tough. Mine was cooked medium and it wasn't very pleasant to eat given the cost of the food. The size was small and there was more fries than the main course which was disappointing. The steak sauce was scarce and it doesn’t go well with the cream sauce from the spinach. They should've offered a substitute.
The dessert on the otherhand was phenomenal! It's one of the best cheesecake I ever had in a long time which made up for that dissapointing filet mignon and that dreaded spinach combo meal. The rosemary caramel sauce and the light flavorful cheesecake made me wish that i only ordered the cheesecake to have a good experience

First visit to Tarbell’s Tavern was a week ago. We shared the BLT (best ever!), chicken lettuce wrap (great but too pricey), coconut cream pie (must have at least once), and a bottle of Petit Sirah the sommelier recommended. We had a fabulous time. Very comfortable. Noise at a low level so we could easily hear each other.
Back again last nite and happy to say it’s just as great and worth the 20 minute drive. We asked to have a dry Riesling ready and their pick was spot on and very reasonably priced at $26. They sell the wines at retail but no corkage. Tried the charcuterie for two and the BLT again. They put together a fabulous cheese board. I know we’ll be back soon. Limited menu so easier to make everything great. Valet parking avail if needed.
