For years this was the only place in the Valley for real Ipswich fried clams. Suddenly it was out of business and now there is a recorded message that the place is open again on weekends. Except it wasn't. Help! Does anyone know if this place is really open or do you know any other fried clam restaurant?

Website is not working so have been trying to call and no answer. Was wanting to try it for my first time... And basically can't trust that it's a actual place. Definitely frustrating. And the place if it is real probably taste good.. but will never know.

The chowder mad bread is excellent. We had the fried and baked fish sampler platters. We are seafood lovers and we weren't a huge fan of the fish. The tartar sauce is homemade though. Prices are reasonable for what you get. The waffle fries are better than the steak fries.

Very nice and relaxed atmosphere. The cook even came to show me the crab meat he was going to use.i explained i was from Maryland. Well the shrimp was like chewing a tire, way over cooked, it didn't matter about the crab meat because you couldn't find it.child like servings, the bread was a heated up roll that looked like someone sat on.there was one one other family in the restaurant eating, we were seated and then waited 6 minutes for a waitress because they we busy socializing with each other, she came to the table I had to ask for water. And she never offered us anything else to drink ,not even from the bar .I ate and didn't complain, my partner eat his calms very small not much belly to them .so I thought well the desert would probably be good. I ordered the Boston cream pie a nother dis appointment the pie was dry like it was make a week ago .it was just a complete disappointment. I should have just went to red lobster at least the prices would have been about the same. And I know they would offer a beverage

Best seafood place ever. The environment is so friendly. There is not TVs so you can actually hear the people you are with. I've been going there with my family for 22 years and never had a bad meal.

OH My Goodness what great food. First time here, a friend brought me to Taylor's. I had Fish and Scallops combo. Crispy on the outside and perfection on the inside. Service is amazing too. Try it you will love it.Margi

Got fried clams cost 18.99 maybe got 14 small to tiny whole belly clams and nothing else. This place use to be the greatest to get seafood in the valley. You would get good portions. . Will not go back. My friend was with me . So sad use to Love this place. Not any more..

Some of the worst fried seafood I've ever had! They got our take out order wrong, was missing several items. When talked to owner about it he basically accused my 85 year old mother of trying to scam him to get free food! And with a smug attitude! Would not admit they were at fault! The baked fish was a bit better than the fried. WILL NEVER GO BACK! Have been going here for several years too. Food has gone way down hill!

The food was good but the waitress let the place down. The fish was very good and batter just right not too thick. Shrimp was also tasty. We had to wait almost 15 minutes to get waited on (they were not that busy) and that kinda soured us on the place. Will return but at a different time and hope that things are better.

I've been to many places for fish and chips on Fridays. I keep hearing how great Chowder House was so thought we'd try it. I was very disappointed. Pricey and no flavor. The service was rushed and confused, employees argued in the kitchen, answering calls on their cell phones. Restaurant was dirty and very out dated. That was my 1st impression but thought the food must be good from what I hear. I won't be returning.
