We came across this place by chance. We were walking to another restaurant when we noticed it. I'm extremely happy we decided to stop by and check it out. The service: Warm, welcoming, and attentive! Our server was amazingly patient while she educated us on various dishes. Seeing that it was our first time having African food, she even brought us an appetizer to try. The staff seemed genuinely happy to have us there. The food: I had a goat stew with potatoes. Doesn't sound fancy, and when I saw the portion size, I had my doubts. My doubts were immediately assuaged. (That's a 25-cent word!) The stew was so rich and flavorful that I was nearly full after just a few bites. Warning, though, the meats are left on the bone. As a result, you slow down, enjoy every bite, and savor the rich spices. Bones are good! The environment: You can't eat at a happier place! The music is lively, the lighting is bright, there's monitors playing sports of all sorts, everybody has a smile to share! I thought I was in a movie. There's a beautiful bar, plenty of space, beautiful African baskets and decorations, and international flags. There's even some Americana here and there. It makes for a warm and welcoming place to relax. Long story short, I'll be going back.

Bel Air has no respect for the community. With various requests to turn down their music, they don't give a F about anything but themselves. Many have called asking them to turn down their music only to be hung up on. DO NOT GIVE A DOLLAR TO THESE GREEDY BUSINESS

Loved the food here, I’ve had Rwandan/Ugandan food a lot and this was highly up there. Nice to have some in AZ now. I recommend the chapati with beans.

FABULOUS DELIGHT! My husband and I happened upon this lace by accident and it was delicious! The fish wash so flavorful (comes out with the head attached so be prepared. Haha.. but don't let it keep you from trying it because the freshness and flavor is magical. The fried yucca is gonna be my go to for a treat. Oh man yummy!! Griffin and the crew were so warm and inviting and it is a beautiful little place. I live not far from this location, and it will definitely be a regular for my husband and I.

It is the new “IT” restaurant in town. The food is yummy, the atmosphere is great and the server, Griffin was so so nice to us. Give it a try!

This place is more of a night club than anything and NOT at all what this neighborhood wants or needs. They think it's appropriate to play music so.loud it wakes our family including my child up all hours of the night. It's rude to the community and I would love to see their permit that allows this. As we have other businesses we had to sign off that we approve music up to 10pm because they are so.close.to.houses. Heaven for bid you dial their number as No one ever answers.

The BelAir Bar and Grill 2827 E Bell Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85032 is in violation of city codes for noise ordinance. Ordinance G-6674, Chapter 2, Article 1, Division 5, Section 2-22 Sec. 23-14 Enumeration of loud, disturbing and unnecessary noises; enumeration not exclusive. Their events are produced all hours with music beyond nominal decibels so that the entire neighborhood is impacted. The noise has lasted well past 2 a.m. every day of operation. They've ignored community input and law enforcement's requests when asked to minimize the noise, and they've continued disrespecting the community by refusing to do so. As per the city noise ordinances and the quiet enjoyment clause for the city, quiet time begins at evening and lasts until 7 a.m. all week and every weekend. Please feel free to contact the city via phone or email to further discuss this. Appreciate your input!

Another new place to try. FYI parking is at the back. This place is clean. African atmosphere. They have Kenyan DJ good to see African supporting each other. Music on point. The food is very good goat meat tender. The food is well represented. The only thing be ready to wait. I waited for 2hrs for one person. I guess is the server could keep checking on customers mingt help.Upstairs was the best. And the owner is the best and it's a new place they are doing the best to keep moving.Thank you will be back soon.Note:it's African food which means it takes longer to make and keep the flavor. The food is worth waiting.

Whatever Whenever

This place is a nuisance to the community and residents it resides in! Every weekend they blast music until well after 2 or 3am so loud that we hear it in our homes blocks away and it shakes our windows. When you call to ask them if they can turn it down they don't answer or if they do they are dismissive, rude and then just hang up on you. This would be a great neighborhood spot but their lack of support and decency for the community has pushed us away and the word is spreading and keeping most of us away.
