I stayed here while in Phoenix for a class. I chose it because of the great reviews and they weren't wrong. The entire staff was friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to make sure everything was going well. The hotel lobby and the room were extremely clean and I felt very comfortable and taken care of. If more of my classes end up being in Phoenix, I'll stay here again.
Andrew, at check in, gave us a great quiet room. Andrew was also a dearth of knowledge as what to do in the area. He recommended the MIM, and he was spot on. Thank you Andrew for a great 3-night stay! Tyrone, at the kick back, was extremely personable and professional. We spoke about baseball history and we could have spoke for hours. He made a great "Ty Special" - drink. Thank you Ty! Jasmina, the clerk in the morning, was also very cheery and helpful. Thank you Jasmina! The property is located in Happy Valley, which is in the North Center part of the Greater Phoenix area. We wanted to be out of the busy areas and downtown. This was perfect for us. Located right near the Interstate. We stayed here to go to the Diamondbacks games...it's about 20-25 minutes away. Rates were reasonable. The pool is half in and half out. It was extremely well-used with lots of kids, so we opted not to use it. Ice is on even-numbered floors. Would definitely stay here again!
Exceptional check-in with Sabrina and Duane who were so welcoming and friendly and helpful, even though we were a little early. Duane advised us on a good, local walking place 5 mins down the road at Thunderbird Park, Pinnacle Peak Rd, for some exercise. Hotel is on the outskirts, but you "have to" drive everywhere in Phoenix anyway as it is so big. Usual Drury facilities which we appreciate. It was the tail of the Memorial w/e and there were a lot of children. Unfortunately they dropped food and spilled drink, so the floor in the dining area was very dirty and slippy. The staff didn't clean anything until later. Nice to have metal cutlery and hard plates. There is a $5 for a pudding in the other bar which we did not spot as it was poorly advertised. Good to have a water bottle filler as well as button on the soda machine for water. The bed was comfy and the sheets clean and soft, with good pillows. Would return if we need a hotel north of Phoenix.
Went to Drury for a couple get together and exploring of Arizona. We rented a car and it was easy to park in the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful, with hot options like eggs, sausages, potatoes and waffles we could prepare on our own. The staff taking care of breakfast was friendly, as was the receptionists. The pool was a bit enclosed, for part of it is under roof and part is outdoors. Overall, we had a nice stay.
Happy Valley was not a very happy place for me. Nor did Drury Hotels provide me with an honest price as promised on a poster in the elevator. When I did an online search for Drury Hotels Happy Valley in Phoenix I was redirected to Guest Reservations. It was not until I had booked the room that I found out Guest Reservations charged over $200 in booking fees and that the stay was non-refundable. There was some confusion regarding the Amtrak schedule. I got to Phoenix a day later than I expected so I was a no-show the first night. Even though I had already paid for the room through Guest Reservations, Drury Hotels charged me second time for the entire stay. When I objected and wanted to speak to the manager they refused to speak to me and directed me to the corporate website. This is NOT hospitality. This is NOT good customer service. Drury corporate agreed to a partial (an inadequate) refund but is taking an inordinately long time processing that refund. Caveat emptor! (Let the buyer beware) Stay away from booking with Guest Reservations. If you choose not to deal directly with the hotel be sure you know what the booking charges will be and whether or not the stay is refundable if you need to cancel BEFORE you hit the SUBMIT button!
First time staying at a Drury Hotel (normally stay at Hilton or Marriott Brands) and I was very pleased with everything. From the time I walked in smelling freshly made Popcorn and greeted warmly by the staff till I checked out I couldn't get over how much value I received for the price. The food at Supper was excellent with several different entrees to chose from to the breakfast in the morning. Rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Internet was reliable, wished it was a 5 ghz instead of 2.4 ghz. Will definitely stay at a Drury Hotel again.
This was our first time in the Phoenix area and I selected this based on the TA reviews. I'll admit I didn't spend enough time considering the location and the size of the Phoenix metropolitan area. That said, it is a nice hotel. We have stayed at a few Drury hotels and this one was similarly nice to the others we have stayed at. The hotel looks new or recently remodeled. Our room was clean and comfortable (the pillows could use a little work-too soft for me). It was your typically 2 queen bed room. The AC didn't appear to be consistent - it didn't seem to stay at the set temperature at night. As with many hotels, you have to request your room to be serviced. They didn't make that clear upon check-in, but we were only there for 3 nights (in fairness, it probably was noted on the website and I didn't recall seeing it). Drury (or this hotel) seems to have upped their game with the evening Kickback. The drink selection has improved since our last visit to a Drury and I think they added more food. It isn't gourmet, but we find it very convenient after a day of being out and about. The dining area did get very busy both during breakfast and the Kickback. This Drury also has its own little restaurant and bar. We didn't use it, but that seemed like a nice addition. The breakfast was good with the typical breakfast buffet fair - and biscuits and gravy every morning. Location - The hotel is on the north side of town, just outside the highway loop around Phoenix and right off 17. The neighborhood appears to be growing. There was nothing within easy walking distance for food or stores. It wasn't a long drive to get to some, but nothing less than a mile. There is also no scenery around - you aren't going to get a room with a view. As noted above, I failed to appreciate the size of the Phoenix metropolitan area and the traffic. This may not be the hotel for you depending on your plans. We traveled here from Tucson and it was a fair amount of time just to get from the south side of the metropolitan area to the hotel. If you are planning on spending time in the Phoenix downtown or heading to the south of Phoenix, this may not be right for you. We traveled the Apache Trail to take the Dolly Steamboat, and that was 1 hr 20, at least 1/2 of that the loop highway. However, it was nice for going to Sedona for the day, as it bypasses most of Phoenix. So if you are headed north of town, this is a nice location.
Everything about it was wonderful the staff, the location, the rooms, the security, the quietness, the amenities, really enjoyable. The location was easy to get to from the freeway and easy access back on, which was also very enjoyable.
The hotel was nice and clean. The breakfast and the evening kickback had a lot of selections for everyone. The staff is really friendly here. While we were having breakfast one morning the manager on duty came and talk to us and asked us how we were doing, and wanting to make sure that our stay was a pleasant one.

We were in Phoenix to visit family and while this location was further out than we had originally planned, it turned out be a great place to stay. Given that apparently the high season seems to include March the prices at this location was very good in comparison to other places we looked at. We chose this location in part because it was highly ranked on TripAdvisor. Also the location was away from tourist areas, had ample parking and seemed pet friendly. We chose a suite which allowed me to get up early and enjoy some quiet time without waking my husband. Even with the suite the location was less than a room at some other local hotels. The style, and level of comfort is much like a nice Hampton Inn. This was our first stay with Drury Inn (it is not affiliated with the European line) The rooms were clean, and comfortable. I found the breakfast to be on par with what I normally see at a Hampton Inn. They also have a "happy hour" of sorts with nibbles and drinks at 5.30 in the evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We certainly will stay with them again if we travel there again.
