The place has plenty of seating because of the backroom tables as well as a few outdoor places to sit as well. The primary reason we come here is for the coffee, but have been very impressed with their food options as well. Each dish is large enough to share so come with your friend if you don't have a huge appetite.

I was really impressed with this coffee shop. I was welcomed when I walked in and the general manager was friendly. We had scheduled a business meeting at this location and he offered up the conference room free of charge. I had the bacon burrito and the Arizona Sunrise latte. The burrito was so flavorful the saltiness of the bacon mixed perfectly with the potatoes and cheese. The latte hard to be one of the best flavors of coffee I have had in Phoenix, it was a unique flavor, I don’t fully remember what was all inside but I wish I had a large. The cafe is in a great location and good amount of space to meet with friends or hold a business meeting. I really enjoy the mission behind the cafe, and the people they are helping. It is incredible to see businesses still having a focus on helping the community. Great service and great place. Highly recommend supporting this place.

Amazing! A prestigious and fashionable restaurant had created the most effective foods that I’ve ever tasted. I feel thus blessed knowing that i used to be one in every of their lucky customers that tough and witnessed however smart their services were. As a glad client, I’m over willing to come back once more the least bit times. many thanks thus much!

Phoenix's Coffee scene has been redeemed.5 minute walk from my hotel, I found The Refuge Café.4 shot Caramel White Mocha, Breve. Less than $7Order at the bar; drink and food delivered to the table. The ½/½ is perfectly steamed. Not too much caramel or chocolate. Perfect amount of sweetness. All the flavors are melded, none stand out above the others.Several tables on the shaded front patio.Well spaced tables inside, able to take off my mask without emotional discomfort. Well lit from above for reading.Big windows for lots of natural ambient light.Art for sale lines the walls; reasonably priced jewelry is for sale in a case.

It feels like everything is made with love here. So happy to see this business made it through COVID and is coming back to normal. The employees are always so genuine and the food is good.

Had the Arizona sunset latte (orange and chocolate syrups); different and delish. Got the chorizo burrito and it was really filling and the salsa for dipping added just the right amount of heat. Super-nice staff!

I love The Refuge. So glad they made it through 2020. Ordered a breakfast bowl and since I didn't want potatoes the chef threw in veggies. It was made to order, super fresh, very delicious and a great start to my day. I sat on the patio but noted table games and plenty of space and character inside.

Moved into the area and decided to try this place half a mile from our apartment. My fiancé and I both got coffee and a breakfast burrito. The place is clean and has nice seating. The service was also very friendly, and the guy at the front with the awesome beard informed us more about the Melrose area. Our food and coffee were brought out to us. The staff here is very friendly. I got a caramel iced latte, per usual. The Refuge Cafe serves there own roasted coffee, and this latte you can taste it. Good coffee flavor and still has sweet caramel tones. Ryan got an Arizona Sunset, orange mocha- taste like the orange piece of chocolate you'd get in an assorted chocolate box. Very tasty.
