Love the this taproom. I’ve been coming here for several years now. Especially after hockey. Selection is always great. One will always find a beer to satisfy the soul

Super cute place with friendly staff. It's dog friendly. We've had food at the food trucks a couple times and it was always good. I personally love that they have meads.

My favorite tap room in Phoenix! Lots of open seating, inside and out. Plus, it's dog friendly! No kitchen but they feature different food trucks on the weekends.

I googled breweries and decided to come here. I live the atmosphere and the plenty of beer options.

First review I’ve ever felt I had to write. I’ve always loved coming to wandering tortoise, so much so, that when my friend group recently lost one of our own, I suggested wandering tortoise as the place to gather. We all met on monday night, 4/14, and things on our end were emotional (again we had just lost a best friend). This is where the negative review comes in and why I will never give wandering tortoise my business again. Sheldon, the bar manager, thought he was better than everyone. When my best friends wife was overcome with emotion of seeing friends again, he decided it was imperative that he belittle her and tell her that she’s too emotional to continue drinking and made a point to say that she was done drinking for the night (she had had one beer at this point). When another friend went to the restroom and asked her to hold his beer, Sheldon again thought it was important to step in and belittle her, telling her that he had already cut her off and took the beer. We all were in such a shock that it took everyone a minute or two to even register what he had just done. One of our members said, maybe he just didn’t understand so he went over to Sheldon to explain our current situation; Sheldon could not care less and stuck to his guns. I’m sorry, but a place that has such a heartless person as their manager is not a good place, and it certainly is not a place that deserves ours or anyone else’s business. I’ve been here several times, have always loved coming to this place and always recommended it to friends. But never again, if your staff can’t understand that people are human, then you do not deserve our business or to continue to operate.

Good selection of various local and unique craft brews.

A true Phoenix gem. This taproom is far more than its slick appearance. The beer that goes on tap here is not easily found everywhere. That’s a fact. The food made from the kitchen on the back patio is great. All the people that make this place go deserve a huge thank you. Oh insane bonus? Nelson’s next door. Get some seafood when the kitchen isn’t going at wandering. Spoiled for choice on food and beer at this spot.

Didn't have food, skip that review.
Basically an open air pub, 2 garage doors, modest parking lot next to other parking spaces. On the shady south side of Indian School Road, seemed to stay cool enough to us.
Initially overwhelmed at the choices.
Green boards are 'on sale,' black
boards w/ red chalk are sours. They offer quite a lot. If you can't find something here, maybe go get some spirits.
Many cases offering 4oz., 8oz., and 16 oz. beer pours. Plenty of solid traditional offerings and wild-hair collaboration brews.
A short list of Meads in 2 & 4 oz. pours. A few more wines as well with a healthy bottle selection section
Knowledgeable and polite staff.
What is not to like?
SO glad we happened by.

OK, they have a food truck and another whack of taps on the back patio. Also, a decent selection of canned goods, mostly beer... we didn't check. DEFINITELY someplace we're going to return to.
