We are a regular but this time everything was bad. Only thing that was good was the bread and ricotta. How can you burn steak at this level?

The BEST meal I’ve had in a while. Visiting from LA and I would come back to Phoenix just to go to dinner here again. Everything was perfection. Did family style because we all wanted to try everything. Didn’t order one item we didn’t all love. Superb.

First visit! The pasta with black pepper, Parmesan, and pecorino Romano was the standout—simple yet bursting with flavor, a dish that left us blown away. We also ordered the bucatini, which was good, but the black pepper and cheese pasta stole the show. We started with the focaccia topped with whipped ricotta and honey, which was so delightful that we immediately ordered a second round. The swordfish was cooked to perfection, with a delicate, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
We were also lucky to have an amazing server who went above and beyond to explain each dish in detail. He guided us making great recommendations. The restaurant’s decor is well-designed, providing a warm, inviting ambiance, which was refreshing in a rather unremarkable area of town.
The Bad:
Despite the great food and service, we found the prices to be on the high side. Unfortunately, the experience was also tainted by the attitude of the hostess. We arrived five minutes early for our 6:30 reservation and were told that other guests were “ahead of us,” even though no one was waiting. She offered us an outdoor table, which we declined due to rain and chilly weather, yet she insisted again, mentioning heaters. Her annoyance at our request to be seated inside was apparent, and as we left, she didn’t acknowledge us—a disappointing end to an otherwise enjoyable evening.
Tratto’s food and warm service from our waiter made for a memorable meal, but the lack of hospitality at the door made us decide that we would not return.

My first time dining here and it was simply marvelous from start to finish! Our waiter, Mathew, was so kind and welcoming to us and was more than happy to answer questions about the menu to ensure we had the best dining experience. He was also very attentive and it felt so warm and welcoming inside with lit candles and intimate lighting. I highly recommend for events, a dinner with friends, or any other get together!

Came here for my best friend’s birthday dinner & everything was exceptional! The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable & kind. I ordered the fettuccine & it was perfect. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing, overall it was a very peaceful experience. I will be coming back.

Oh my goodness, this place is a must-go if you are in the area. Each and every dish was mouth-watering good. We ordered the focacia with whipped butter and honey, cheese plate, fettucci, swordfish, and mushrooms. Everything was phenomenal. I could eat those mushrooms on their own every day. I regret not ordering dessert (I couldn't, or I would have had to roll myself out since the portion sizes are family style and generous), but each item on the dessert menu sounded like it needed to be in my belly. I will most definitely visit again. Our server, Ryan, was knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. The atmosphere and interior design are very cool. Limited seating with plenty of space between tables made the atmosphere very comfortable and gave the illusion of a private dinner. Great for a date night. Loved to see everyone dressed well for a night out, even on a Tuesday. I am craving the food already and looking forward to the next creative menu options!

I travel for work and, because of Tratto, if I see cacio e pepe on a menu I'll order it. Even off-menu, I have ordered it. But no where in multiple states have topped Chris B's!
They have valet but it is not needed most of the time - maybe if you're really late for your reservation, but it's not a crowded area. It's in an unassuming part of east DT and the only business open around its hours.

I have really enjoyed my prior 4 visits but this weeks dinner was a big disappointment. While the pork chops were good, the pasta was hard and the chicken was the tasty but the size of a quail. I left very hungry and stopped for a protein bar at a Circle K on the way home.

Food was amazing! The house-made focaccia was incredible, perfectly paired with whipped ricotta and honey. We had the Rigatoni with pork sausage ragu, Jimmy Nardello peppers, and fennel and the Steak Ranch Bavette Tagliata with arugula and tomatoes, along with a side of braised summer beans with crispy guanciale. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of rich, balanced flavors. Highly recommend!
Another outstanding meal and experience at Tratto. We sat at the bar and Christian took care of us. We started with a cocktail for my wife and a beer for me- She had a "Palomina" with tequila and citrus-very tasty indeed. I had a "Church Music" from our local Wren House brewery which is one of my favorites. Dinner was a stone fruit salad followed by Cacio De Pepe and the steak which we split. Excellent! Erin, he manager, helped us pick a wonderful Nebbiolo wine to go with dinner which was delicious. Thanks to Hannah as well for helping us out. Tratto is a unique and wonderful place to dine-we'll be back soon!
Truly, the most delicious Italian food I've had in Maricopa County. Every aspect of each dish was so perfect -- the dressing for the salad, the little amuse bouche when we walked in (roast onion yogurt with lemon and olive oil on an olive oil cracker, perfect pasta, the cocktails (that Contratto Spritz!)--we will be back again and again. Thank you for a memorable meal!
My friends and I needed a halfway meeting place (east Mesa to Buckeye) for a birthday dinner. None of us had ever been to Trattos so we gave it a try. What a gem we found. Rustic ambiance, great service and superb food. Thumbs up great place.
