I wish I could rate the food, but our server never came. She went to every table around us multiple times but never once even said hi to us. I grew up in this neighborhood and have been coming here for years, and for the most part it's been good but this was a final straw. We asked to speak to the manager and waited an additional 5 minutes only for them to never even come see what was wrong. Sadly we don't ever be back.

Told a table of 30 was being seated
It took 10 minutes to get a waitress. Another 8 for drinks. Add to ask for a manager it was that bad.

So what the heck?! 😂 Traditional Mexican soup of the day. Cream of Broccoli. 😂 Come on. I gave a 5 star not to be a jerk but do better.

Cream of broccoli soup's modern history is a 20th-century phenomenon, popularized by Campbell's condensed cream of broccoli soup in 1990, though the concept of creamy vegetable soups has older roots in European cooking. Campbell's recipe contest to get President George H.W. Bush to eat broccoli helped launch its commercial success, which also led to variations like broccoli cheese soup.

After more than 20 years eating at Valle Luna, a small discrepancy will keep me away. They've added a credit card surcharge and while they say it's posted near the door, I wasn't made aware of it, nor is it on the bill. I noticed because the numbers didn't add up. Asking the manager, I was told that it was automatic with their new billing system, I explained that's not something a credit card processor is allowed to do without the explicit knowledge/approval of the owner, the manager was deeply angered by her believing I was inferring that I was talking bad about the owners. Sad, that her attitude and this small deception will be what keeps my wife and I away after a couple of decades of them feeding us.

Large portions, good chips and salsa (2 types- chunky and a spicy smoky one). A bit darker and loud, but food is pretty quick.
