I didn't want to put this review in but I had to. I have been coming here for years and it seems that there's new cashiers up front and I put in an phone order before 5:00 thinking that I had time to come and pick it up after work. As I arrived to pick up my food today I was informed that the special is no longer active. I was a bit surprised because I was never told this.
So if anyone is making a phone or be sure to pick up your Rice bowl before 5:00 so you can get the special that they advertise for. Or you can pay it online and you can pick up your food when you can. Just an FYI.

I went yesterday for their lunch special which is from 3-5pm . I get there ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl when I got it it only had a few small strips of chicken on top and the whole bowl was literally filled with dry white rice and maybe two spoonfuls of sauce on top . Then they charged me for 4 more teriyaki sauces which I had to pay because it was so dry at 30 cents a piece. It was a horrible experience I felt ripped off and will never visit again.

Okay I waited a few weeks to write a review. I felt like the quality of the food is not as good as it used to be prior to covid. I used to work downtown and I used to eat them all the time. But now I work very far away from this area and I drove down there just for the food. It was okay, it wasn't bad just okay. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl with extra veggies and apparently there was no room for my veggies so they took out rice so I had a very little rice with my chicken teriyaki. Like, just give me a bigger bowl or something. Chicken teriyaki does not hit the same without rice. It's literally not chicken teriyaki. PLUS, there was very little sauce. So everything that makes it a chicken teriyaki was left out. Makes me wonder if they made my bowl and then forgot about the extra vegetables so dumped out half the rice that probably had the sauce in it and then just added vegetables with no sauce (the last part is just an assumption) based on my experience. And the reason I give the service 2 stars is because they told me the speaker was out and had me drive up to place my order then literally wait for them to make my order however everyone before me and behind me was just fine.

Changed their menu from #1-#5 specials that included egg roll or salad and a drink. Higher prices. Crab puffs are not the same, more like a a huge circle with barely any cream cheese inside. Please don't ever change the teriyaki sauce. Yoshi, please try as best as possible to keep it familiar, been going here for over 25 years and try to reconnect when in the area.

Look I'm gonna be honest. This isn't the review you're looking for. Be warned.

Yoshi's and I have engaged in a secret relationship for the last 4 years. I travel for work. And everytime I'm in central Phoenix I visit her. The food is fantastic. The prices are fair. The portions are generous.

But, she always leaves me on the toilet. Everytime. Worse than taco bell.

Being a man of education and science, I had to do some calculations.

I arrived at Yoshi's around noon and grabbed my usual Godzilla bowl.

1204 I began eating.
1214 I finish the first half of the bowl and saved the rest for later.
1230 I began to get gassy
1240 I was already visiting my porcelain princess.

40 minutes is all it took to vacate the entirety of my godzilla bowl. But, I regret nothing. I would do it all again

Hadn't been in here in 12 years or more and living near again I have been wanting to come in for happy hour which used to be one of the best deals in all of Phoenix! Man I am glad I came in and didn't listen to the guy on the train who said it went down hill. I highly recommend the chicken teriyaki bowl. Get the green onions and chili paste and its delicious! Just like old times!
