Haven't even made it here yet and already I'm not happy with this hotel. I made my reservation in January for an end of April stay and they now called to tell me my king room will be under construction. When asked if every king room is under construction they said "no, just certain ones". They said mine was assigned to me in advance. So someone who may have booked their king room last week gets a king but because I made my reservation months in advance, I get kicked out. I guarantee they raised the rates since I booked and can get more money now for a king room. Really crappy way to run a "top tier" hotel.

Another amazing stay at the St Michael! We love this old hotel and the people who work here. Front desk, housekeepers all great people! From setting our reservation to check out, excellent service. Clean comfortable room. We've been staying here for many years and they haven't faltered under new ownership. Also, they now have the lobby bar which is a GREAT addition. My favorite feature is the old elevator, very cool!

rooms need further updating, bathrooms need to be modernized, website pictures of the hotel rooms don't quite match how the rooms really look. the beds are also outdated. the service was good though and the location is too.

The hotel itself is so cool. The bed was uncomfortable and room was tiny. But it's what I expected. Residence inn felt like a presidential sweet the next day.

We've only been to the restaurant. Great service. Great food.
Rooms are a bit small and a bit nosy. But this is part of history. Having an old elevator still in operation pretty cool. Staff were very very nice and accommodating. Great history here. Bistro had great food.

Great on every level especially over Christmas. The service the hotel charm and the food are all great. It's worth the extra money to get a larger room upgrade.Rooms: Worth getting an upgraded larger roomNearby activities: Everything is right there that you need, shopping, food and entertainmentSafety: Very safeWalkability: This is 1st to why you stay there, hotel charm as well, good and serviceFood & drinks: Definitely good food and service at a reasonable price

My wife and I stayed at St Michael as a one night get away. We really liked the location and the atmosphere of the turn of the century hotel (last century). The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My critique of the hotel is that they were not full, yet we were given a room with a view of a brick wall, not a street view of any kind. I know they were not anywhere near full capacity because the entire town was dead. There was literally no traffic and hardly a person walking on the sidewalks. We were puzzled when we saw earplugs on the nightstand, but later realized we could hear a constant humming noise of machinery all night long. The Bistro restaurant food was good, but nothing special. Unfortunately, the waitress sat us in a dark dank corner of the back of the restaurant when they had open tables in the front of the restaurant with windows. Apparently, it was not her section.
